Kotobukiya Sadako Bishoujo Statue

Big fan of the movie so I was so excited when this figure was announced I pre ordered it right when it was available for pre order. Unfortunately my order was cancelled due to low stock. Fast forward about a year after release and to my surprise one showed up for sale so I jumped on it and I'm so happy I did as she looks great. The base is kind of cool with the pile of vhs that has a compartment underneath with ribbon that you can pull out and make it look like the tape ribbon is spooled out all over. Personally I didn't bother with this since I don't know how that will hold out over time. Although you do get extra spools in a little vhs display box that also houses the extra hair covering epe faceplate which I don't care for. I prefer the face with the one eye showing. But the vhs box they are housed in itself makes a great companion display piece. That being said I do have a minor gripe as far as the base. She is loosely pegged in from the dress underneath on to the pole. This is due to the base being segmented so you can bring up the tape from the bottom to each section. The problem is she isn't locked in secure. She can swivel on the pole although there seems to be sort of a sweet spot where some of the tapes meet the dress in a way it wont really swivel but it's still not "locked in". Thus if you attempt to lift her she instantly will be lifted off the base. You always have to use two hands if you ever want to move her, one on her and the other securing the base. Sadly mine had a tiny little chip on the main vhs by her waist. But you can't see it unless I'm looking really close at the statue. Not that there was any option for a exchange anyway since the was no other available. Even still it's so minor I just chalk it up to adding to the aesthetic of a very old vhs lol. Overall I love it and im so happy to finally have her. Kind of hope they do another variation with her and the well.

Another winner for the Kotobukiya Horror Bishoujo series. Love the VHS tape details, although she has to be displayed where there is absolutely no chance of the ribbon tape to tempt my pets into attacking her.
