Far better than Sony for a fraction of the price
I've been a Sony loyalist since the Xm3s. I've had the xm3, xm4, 2 x xm5 and an xm6. Never going back, the reason I had two xm5s is the first one broke, I got a replacement and then the second just broke in exactly the same place. I got the xm6 and was incredibly disappointed with the sound quality and ANC (which apparently had been ruined by the last firmware update). How Sony have the nerve to sell obviously inadequate products is beyond me. Why I kept buying them is even more baffling. Especially when the Space one pro has been available all this time for a third of the price! Firstly, the sound quality, now, I'm no audiophile, but to my ears these are far far better sounding than the Sonys and the Bose ultras, which I also tried. Clear deep bass and doesn't dominate, precise and natural sounding mids and highs, nicely separated on a good stage. Build quality, exceptional. Solid metal headband and hinges that fold for transport. You feel like these will be more than able to take day to day use. Unlike the xm5s, which are shameful by comparison, absolutely shameful. Comfort is fine for me. Clamping force is high initially, but you can break them in easily, cushioning is pretty good, again better than the xm5s but not quite Bose standard. ANC is good enough. Is it up to the xm5 standard? No not quite, but it is better than the xm6s since the firmware debacle. I work in an office and I can concentrate through almost all background noise and talking. Overall I'm now a soundcore evangelist. These are great sounding, very well built headphones with very solid ANC at a great price. I look forward to the space two pro.

Pleasantly surprised with the sound quality these bad boys produce.
Okay, so I bought these on a whim, and purely for the form factor plus I needed a pair of headphones day of my long 9 hour flight. I consider myself of a bit of an audiophile nut, so I'm extremely particular about my music and what it sound like. I do own some BW speakers and and range of in ear monitors but didn't want to carry my small amps with me on the flight, further more wanted noise cancelling headphones for nap time. Now, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by these headphones, which I state I wasn't. Yet, I was extremely surprised what these produce with standard and Hi-res music. I mean at this price point absolutely wow! You will need to run them in, to get the best out of these bad boys, which I'm still doing and track by track I can hear them opening up. SOUND The sound produced by these are intimate, which feels as someone is directly singing to you close by, but not obtrusive. So bear this in mind it does not have a wide aspect of a sound stage, which what I'm use to. TREBLE Highs are well balanced and not in your face to the a point your ears start to bleed. Subtlety is key here, where you can hear the little nuances in the track you are playing which surprised me. MIDRANGE This is where the headphones shine, I mean wow, vocals are clear and direct. I would even come to say these are a warm sounding headphones, which is a pleasure on the ears. Listening to some Norah Jones, feels as though she is singing with her beautiful voice right next to you. As stated very intimate sounding. BASS I'm not a bass head, I've grown out of that many years ago, yet where there needs to be bass I expect it to rumble. These to that, but not in an obnoxious way. You hear the bass, you feel the bass, but you don't notice the bass. I mean the bass isn't over powering. I find it about right. If it could go down a few hertz lower, I would welcome that but not a deal breaker. NOISE CANCELLING Fantastic! I had these on from the start of my flight until the plane landed, nearly 9 hours use with noise cancelling on and music playing. Best flight I had, totally blocks out sound of the horrible reverb of the plane engine and muted dulled down chatter from passengers and screaming kids. Oh, and keeping the noise cancelling on while playing your favourite track does not hinder the quality of sound one bit, as some headphones do. Overall, within this price bracket I am extremely impressed, battery life is amazing, 9 hours of music and noise cancelling left me with 80% battery at the end of my journey. The weight is okay, not as light as say the Sonys, but extremely comfortable to wear all day or night. The plush cushioning helps wonders. Connectivity was easy as child's play with no issues, and the quality of the heads are well made and semi premium feel. These are definitely value for money, at this price you cannot go wrong. great for musicians
im a drummer so i wanted to find a pair of headphones that would work well with practicing as well as normal day life. they make cute littke sounds when connecting and turning on! first of i listened to boy division by mcr and i could immediately hear the kick drum and was so happy. it might be a bit overwhelming in more bass heavy songs but if im trying to learn a song this is perfect. honestly i could hear each separate instrument and it was THE BEST! the separation of different frequencies was so clear! when using the app you can immediately change it and if you play bass guitar it is amazing, i listened to cute without the ‘e’ by taking back sunday next and you could hear it all so well nothing was muddy at all. i also tested out the acoustic setting and could hear the guitar so well. honestly i was so amazing at how they can single out different instruments so well. over time however the bass got a bit too much so i had to go on the app and lower it but then i realised my Spotify EQ was being bass boosted too lol. then you sort of get used to lots of bass so it was honestly fine after a bit. they are very comfortable and i have a small head and they fit well on the smallest setting. the real test was using them whilst drumming, i used the ANC but quickly realised it wouldn’t be suitable when drumming because it would muffle to try to adjust to the loud crashes etc. therefore i switched to normal mode and it was amazing. using my previous sony WH710N i would have to play the music at 100db which is crazy loud and very damaging, using normal mode, the passive cancelling that the tight ear pads made along with the normal mode were perfect! it blocked lots of sound and allowed me to listen at a mere 80-85 db for songs like ocean avenue by yellowcard and i threw glass by destroy boys. i then listened to wait and bleed by slipknot, theory of mind by kublai khan tx, denial is a river by doechii (very bassy song but these made them even bassier which might not be good if you don’t like that and i could hear that punchy kick too!), call it love by crawlers. these are all different genres of songs; metal, rap and indie. it honestly made each song sound so distinctive and unique whereas my previous ones would just muddy all the sounds all together. these are honestly a very good piece of tech for this price range and i was hesitant at first but if you’re contemplating then get them! theyre very very good. i’ll come back after a few months of use and check back in.
