One of the best running shoes I’ve owned
I agree with other reviewers that you should size down a half size from your normal running shoes.I have Merrell bare arc and was very disappointed that they were discontinued. I still run in them and have had them for years. They last forever.I have tried previous versions of the trail glove and didn’t like the fit so I wasn’t sure I would like these. Out of desperation since Merrell discontinued almost the entire line of barefoot shoes which seem to have been widely loved by a significant population, I tried the last model that is still available and have not been disappointed! They are comfortable and really fit like a glove. My toes have more room than they did in my bare arcs- so I may even be more pleased with these running shoes. I wore them to the trail for a run yesterday and they did well on rocks though the big ones still jabbed my feet. Definitely did well though. They do run a little hotter than my bare arcs which are a more breathable mesh. I’d like to wear more cushioned socks but need a very breathable sock for these.I tried the trail glove 6 and it is hands down a crappier version of this shoe- too narrow in the toe box and the soles aren’t as nice as this model. I would love to see Merrill make a new version of this for the road again. I had the road glove and it was the best fitting shoe I ever wore. I hope the next model of the trail glove is more like this one. I’m so glad these were still available!

Awesome shoe for hikes with an awesome view!
I hiked various trails from Arizona to Utah, including Ooh Ahh Point and Cedar Ridge in the Grand Canyon, and WOW! What a shoe! So comfortable! Sturdy, great arch support for me, wide enough toe box, lightweight and no sweaty feet even after miles of hiking in the desert heat! I highly recommend these shoes! I have several styles of Merrell shoes, and am beyond thrilled with every single pair! Thank you!

feels like i have cat paws
These shoes are so light weight and comfortable to wear. My feet feel supported and free. I am picky about shoes and will only keep them if they fit well on ht=the first try as I don't believe that shoes get better over time. "Merrell Women's Trail Glove 5," fits the bill.

Well made shoe. Just too snug. So go 1 size up.
Nice lightweight shoe. Good grip and feel but they were too snug in my usual size. The toe box material is pretty unforgiving with continued toe friction so I recommend sizing up. Wore them once and gave them to someone who’s wears a size smaller. She loves them! So just go up one size if you plan to run in these and it should be fine.

Using for 3 years now
This shoe is so comfortable. It feels like walking with almost nothing on my feet. I ordered a size up since I have longer 2nd toes. They've held up well considering I walk for an hour at least 4 times a week with a bit of jogging thrown in. Suitable for flat terrain walking, hiking - has a reasonably decent grip on wet surfaces Will definitely buy again.

Perfect Minimalist Shoe
I originally read reviews that these ran big and decided to order my normal dress shoe size 6.5. I ended up returning them and getting the 7 which is my normal fitness shoe size. If you plan to run or hike in these, go with the size of your nike or other exercise/hiking shoes. The toe box is wide, but it is comfortable and meant to be that size for running blister free. When I went down the the 6.5, my toes hit the end when going downhill which would cause major blistering had I kept them. Overall, the tread on these is great and they are very comfortable. I have high arches and these have decent support. I have hiked a few times in these as well as used them mountain biking and have really liked them.

Great Trail Shoes!
They shoes make running fun again. The fit is true to size for me. They are my first barefoot running shoes, and I am very impressed. I have been a trail runner for 47 years, and these are my favorite shoes because I can feel the ground and use my feet in ways that were impossible to do in stiff, padded shoes. I did work up to running in them and have been wearing barefoot shoes for some time to get my feet conditioned.UPDATE: I liked these shoes so well that I ordered another pair for backup. Fortunately, I eventually tried on the new pair, and found they fit differently than the first. As some people mentioned in their reviews, there was a big arch support built into the new ones. The previous pair did not have this. Possibly they are manufactured in different locations? I did send the second pair back because they would have caused pain/blistering.

Women's Sizing Runs Wide and Long (big like Mens); Different From Trail Glove 4
I bought Merrell Women's Trail Glove 5 Sneaker based on my great experience with Merrell Women's Trail Glove 4: boy what a *bad* difference.I LOVE the Trail Glove 4 because they fit my feet like a glove.Unfortunately, the Trail Glove 5 has a noticeable (high) mid-arch support; runs wide, long, and taller around the ankle. So the 8.5M felt like a men's shoe. I had to check the box to see if it was for women, not men (it said "women".) Definitely not like the previous shoe, and not "glove"-like at all.Merrell: why change a good thing?!As an aside, since the material around the ankle is higher than the Trail Glove 4, so it hits my ankle bone, alerting me to future chaffing. I'm disappointed. The shoe is going back.
