We bought this because we needed a bigger ice maker. The ones we had prior worked fine just did not make enough for our household needs.Set up was quite easy. It takes 1 gallon of water to fill. That last quite awhile in our house. It makes alot of ice. It is pretty big but we made it work for us. It isnt to loud. All in all it looks good and works great!

Very quick, efficient way to have extra ice. Spotting bottles for athletes, filling your cooler for the weekend, families who encourage lots of hydration. This is it! This is our 3rd counter top ice maker and BY FAR the best!!! Worth every penny!

I've had this ice maker in use for several days now, and I'm very happy with how it performs. I use distilled water to get the best ice, but tap water works nearly as well. The cubes come out nice and clear due to the flowing water as they freeze. The machine regulates itself, so just leave it on, and it will cycle as needed to keep the bin full. Some ice will melt over time, but the water will be recycled into new cubes. The cubes fall out as an array, but poke at them with the scoop and they will easily break apart. The machine does make some noise when running, but it's not very loud and since it's in the kitchen, it's not a problem if it runs in the middle of the night.The unit seems to be well made, and it has stainless steel molds which won't have plating detachment issues as I've read about on other unit's reviews. Other ice makers that produce cloudy ice or mush ice trap the minerals, and will taint the taste of your beverage. Clear ice is the purest and best!Pay attention to the instruction to let it sit 24 hours after setting it up, before you plug it in and turn it on. During shipment and unpacking, the unit may be tilted enough to allow the compressor oil to end up in places other than the crankcase. Letting it sit allows the oil to return to the crankcase. If you plug it in too soon, it could damage the compressor.

This looks good and works incredible. Worth the extra money over the cheaper ones. The ice cubes last twice as long in my drinks

Ok let me start off saying i really like this ice maker its fast and the catch basket is big compared to another ice maker i had before this one, not overly loud, and produces 2 sizes ice, large and small..it arrive on time, set up was a no brainerNow id like to address some of the negative reviews about machines that stopped working after 4 or 5 months, well, mine did the same, and of course i thought it was going to have to go in the trash but after some experimenting this is what i came up with...I ran the machine continually, i bagged up cubes and never shut the machine off, well when it stopped freezing and making cubes but the motor continued to run i gave some thought to it and decided i wasnt going to throw it out just yet so i left it unplugged on the counter for 2 days, and then i decided to try one more time, plugged it back in, filled it with water and turned it on and BOOM within 6 or 7 minutes cubes dropped into the catch basket! I was so happy because i love this machine, so my conclusion is you should not leave it running for long periods, store cubes in ziplock bags and give the machine a break by unplugging it for 24hrs or less, then fill the resevoir to max level and turn on. Also i might add my tap water causes lime easily so i do not use it in the machine, i buy bottled water for it....i hope this is helpful.

Very VERY happy. Had an Opal 2... total garbage. Warranty gave us 3 replacements and was eagerly waiting the 1 year warranty to end. This thing is a beast. As long as you have freezer bags on hand that store the ice, you'll get it done. This thing was $140 and the Opal was like $500-$600. Complete joke. Just keep in mind that a 1 gallon water jug from the store is too large. You'll have to add it slowly over hours or a day and THEN put the container on top. As a stupid American, I didn't do the 3 liters to gallons conversion beforehand. Lol

I bought this because it made cubed ice, not bullet ice. I needed to be able to refill a cooler every single day while I am at a trail ride. This makes 44 lb of ice in 24 hours, you just have to dump it on a regular basis, I bought a 3 l water container that fits on the top to give it double the amount of water before you have to refill it, and it does what it says it will do reliably. I tested it out for a couple of days here at the house I'm getting ready to go to the trail ride next week. It was expensive but worth it to me. It's nice looking, but honestly I'm more concerned with reliable, and that is yet to be known. I know it will run for 2 days. When I get it where it's going, it will run constantly for 7 days while I'm there. This has to refill a cooler every single day, if it does that then it's reliable. The photo shows how big it is and the 3 l bottle that goes on top of it. It's turned off right now, but there is a hole on top where that 3 l bottle sits on their upside down and feeds water into it. That should give you an idea how big it is. If you're going to use that water bottle to feed water into it, you're not going to be doing it under a cabinet, it's too big for that! Just thought you should know.

LED info panel went partially out after 4-5 months. Not the end of the world except that at this point i could not start a clean cycle. Tried different combinations of the clean button and researched it for multiple hours to no avail.After about 8 months this thing started sounding like a dying cat. Maybe the pump went bad, idk.Only ever used distilled water in the unit!!10 months in and the thing still makes ice well and quickly but i cant put up with the sound any longer.Bit the bullet and got an opal. At least parts and information are readily available if/when a problem arises.Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because longevity is considered terrible in most, if not all of these types of units (and the thing still works and makes ice quickly). Would still be usable in the garage or some place I cant hear it.Good features for the price if they would use a more reliable pump and LED panel.
