LG LV880 Nicam VHS Video Recorder

I have a library of VHS tapes which after 30 odd years I still watch and enjoy. Most of those films cost good money and are still watchable on VHS tape. My last player I purchased back in 2006 and it recently gave up the ghost. Couldn't get hold of a player locally as the world has moved on. I didn't want to throw my library into the landfill, so I had a hunt around on Amazon to see if there were any players still available. I was lucky in finding this one. It is now being used to transfer what I can to digital format as well as allowing me to enjoy my collection on the telly.I was a little worried as the price was higher than I expected for a refurbished player. The player arrived far earlier than exected and had all it needed to use straight out of the box. It is fully operational and in very good condition. Well worth the money to get the enjoyment out of my collection for a few more years.

I used this VHS player to play a couple of old tapes that I had no other means of accessing. It worked well. A scart plug and connector was provided. The quality of the image was what you would expect from VHS. By that I mean it was not as good as present-day DVD's but acceptable. Easy to setup and good value for money.Better than using a tape transfer service.

Easy to use and reconditioned.

Easy to set up using a Free View box for the Tv signal. Once I showed how to operate the VHS Recorder. I have never called back with any problems, after I set the Audio Phono outputs for a set of Head Phones. As the Recorder has no Battery Back, I may have to only go back to Wales to set up the TImer Controls again, if there was a power outage

This is the third one of these I have had. What I like most about it is that you can change the picture quality to sharp (or soft focus, if you wish). The picture image of the previous one, keeping in mind that I've used them to transfer over 700 films to DVD, some twice, along with seasons 1 to 7 of the X-files, all 180 episodes of Seinfeld, 90 episodes of Larry Sanders, 180 episodes of Have I Got News For You plus numerous other TV clips to DVD became grainy.All in all, this looks and plays as new; manufacturer new in fact.I've still got 2 TV series to transfer along with about 20 films, so I am well pleased to have found the same model.

Our old recorder failed (after some 25 years) and this replacement recorder works just fine, does all that you would expect, and for those of us who do not yet get any digital television broadcasts it is the simplest way to record television programmes.

Not yet connected; Excellent communications with the seller as had issues with UPS- which wasn’t easy but it finally arrived- Very well packaged! Value for money and looks in great condition! Hope I can play the numerous VHS I have... Thank You
