Perfect for using aluminum pans on an induction range
My mom got a new induction range and wanted to keep using some of her aluminum pans. This worked perfectly to allow her to keep using the aluminum pans on the induction cooktop.

works on induction, but "bumps" prevent pan from sitting flat. Better for gas stoves.
This Deftimirc stainless steel induction hob converter plate does work on induction. While we try to figure out how to remodel our kitchen, we've been using several portable induction cooktops which is a huge improvement from the old built in electric coil Jenn Aire cooktop. The induction cooktops are so much faster, efficient, and easier to clean than the coil electric cooktops. The problem with the cheaper induction cooktops is that the actual induction coil area is usually not as large as the design/outline on top of the cooktop; so anything outside will not cook/brown very well. You'll get some weird looking pancakes or searing on your steaks, if you don't move the food or pan around to be inside that coil.I've been trying these converter plates and this one is much larger than some of the others, so I thought it would help cook items in a larger 9 inch base frying pan more evenly. However, the plate is designed to have some bumps on one side. So if you put the plate with the bumps on the bottom, the contact area with the induction unit is only on the bumps. Flip it over and the larger pots and pans are sitting on the bumps which kind of defeats the purpose of using this plate. The larger pans would spin around while using with the bump side up, so it didn't work as planned. However, if you've got a pot which will fit inside those bumps, about 7" max, then this plate will work. Unfortunately, I wanted to use it for a larger 9" base frying pan so it won't work. However, when we remodel our plan is to install both a high BTU range burner gas stove and an induction cooktop, so we can have the best of both. I can later use this with the bumps side down (and the other smaller) stainless steel plates on the gas stove for simmer settings.Otherwise, the build of this plate seems very good, didn't find any sharp edges. It also has a removeable metal handle to lift the plate (there's a notch cut out) although you have to be very careful when the plate is hot and make sure it cools down. I find the removeable handles to be better than the handles that are permanently attached, as the permanent handles stick up and that sometimes makes it unusable on larger cookware.

Seems brilliant what little use I got out of it...
I bought this to bring my cookware with the times of induction stove tops - unfortunately my cooktop failed. So I still have this stashed for whenever my new induction stove comes into being. It worked well to transfer the heat from the stovetop to the pan. Really doesn't need cleaning if you use it as intended as it should never contact your food!

Very Nice Product & Finish
Works well on my new induction stove, did burnish or discolor a little which is expected. Nice heavy weight. Also works well on top of induction stove silicone cover.

LOVE this plate for NON-Induction cookware! Problem solved - Simply!
What a simple yet effective solution for those with an induction cooktop, and you still have a few pots and pans that are not made for induction that you really still want to use!It cannot be easier -1) Put the metal plate over a burner with the small feet facing down and resting on the cooktop. Place your non-induction-ready pot or pan on the plate. (The handle is not needed yet)2) Turn on the cooktop and let your food cook. We started with a small pot of water and just like any good induction cookware, water started heating up immediately and came to a rapid boil within about 25 seconds or less. DO NOT remove the very hot plate immediately.3) Once the plate has cooled down, take the handle and insert it into the small rectangular hole and lift to move it off the cooktop. Of course, if the plate is cold, you don't even need the handle.BE CAREFUL - it's heavy!
