Awesome fast-paced fun
My children, just like their dad, have a growing fascination for video games. Other than my own violent Assassins Creed fascination I quite like them to play cooperative or competitive games like the Lego series, Overcooked 2 or Mario Kart. Mario Kart actually gets them very excited, however I’ll have to dust off the old WII system and endure the horrible graphics when they beg me to put it on. So I was looking for an exciting arcade-style racing game to run on our PS4, even though this requires them to ditch the steering wheel control. Team Sonic Racing, that I suppose is a wholesale Mario Kart clone had the best reviews even though it has a 3+ year age advice.I have no affiliation with Sega or its characters as most of my early game video game obsession comes from the early 80’s when there wasn’t much Sega and Mario was only operating in black on single game handheld Game&Watch devices. The racing game plays great and looks the part. And it can actually get quite addictive. There are 21 circuits that display excellent speed and flow while racing through impossible curves and corkscrews. The graphics are phenomenal and the music is actually very goodThe game plays fairly straight from the packaging. But of course there area kart classes (3 of them) and plenty of other selections you can make. The car customization is quite attractive, wheels horns can be changed ect. During the game character will throw funny quips at each other. With the right stick you can boost and play trick when in mid-air, though I’ve only explored that to a limited extend so far. Then you can race solo, against each other or as a team – the latter is quite exciting as it balances skill levels neatly, all through split screens. There is an online option as well, but we haven’t played that because we always play as a family or with friends - which is so much better and more exciting than to be randomly connected. So highly recommended to parents that wish to play with their children or want a few (not so quiet) moments for their own.

Great quality game
If you’ve played Super Mario Karts then you’ll really enjoy playing this game. The overall gameplay is great with a great selection of tracks and characters.GRAPHICSTeam Sonic Racing has good quality graphics with the characters looking great on my UHD TV. Graphics are smooth and with no glitches.GAMEPLAYThe game allows up to 4 players to play in Local mode with a easy way to select characters, karts and add-one. The choice of box bonuses is good allowing you to impair your competitors. The race tracks are challenging and get harder as you progress through the game.Overall a highly recommended game for the PS4.

Perfectly enjoyable for what it is...
It's not highly innovative or enthralling racing game as an adult player nor older fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, the teamwork aspect is fresh but not highly effective nor is the customisation or racing items, HOWEVER as another sort of 'Mario Kart' imitation for the PlayStation that I bought to entertain young nieces and nephews upon visits I found it absolutely satisfying both for them and me. It's value for money (when purchased at £20), especially when games are usually so expensive these days.

Great game!
This is the first game we as a family have bought - we're not 'gamers' and I didn't think I'd enjoy it, it was mainly for the children. However, my husband and I really enjoy playing it.Great game!

A Solid Silver Medal
Having been in the shadow of Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise for so long, and with Crash Team Racing also making a splash on modern consoles, is there a place for Team Sonic Racing in a now seemingly overpopulated market? In short, yes there is.By no means perfect, Team Sonic Racing does enough to distinguish it from the crowds whilst having enough fun gameplay to keep most players hooked. Ultimately Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will still retain pole position in this generational race but Crash Team Racing and Team Sonic Racing can easily fight it out for the silver medal. There is an argument that the roster is not as known as that of Mario Kart; however, there are still enough mainstream characters for casual gamers to recognise whilst also fulfilling the fan service by including some lesser known Sega personas. The team racing elements bring a new dynamic to the racing; you can still race solo but when paired up with two other team members you can pull off a magnitude of special moves, slip streams, weapon sharing etc which makes the games surprisingly tactical rather than just a flat-out brawl to the finish line.Whilst not being as visually impressive as either Crash Team Racing or Mario Kart Deluxe Team Sonic Racing is still a fine-looking game, with suitable stages and a high frame rate that holds true even with the most frantic of racing on screen. The career mode is less than stellar (lots of still images with team and little else) but most people play these games for the multiplayer and there is still nothing better than having a couple of mates round and playing your kart racer of choice.

Brilliant Game!!!!!
Sonic! You little blue beaut! If you're a 90s type, you'll know all about Sonic fighting his way through Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone etc (before giving up at Labyrinth zone because the little sod kept drowning)This is a whole bunch of Sonic's mates and enemies driving round maps. There are loads of maps, loads of challenges and loads of variation in this game. Its great! A firm favorite for my 6 year old and my 36 year old partner! Literally great for all ages.
