It will connect the two but there is a drawback of slower speeds on your PC. Other than that, is great when your modem does not have enough ports. Works for me

It works fine to split Ethernet cable from modem to multiple computers, but regarding copier/ scanner use, I'm not sure, I never tried that. Eddie
