They work!
These things work! At 250lbs, I can actually stand in my Kayak! I was flipping in the rapids with the weight of my cooler, and now I'm stable even carrying others gear!

Does not work.
At absolutely no support whatsoever you can take two fingers and push it completely underwater.

Worked well until wet tested
These pontoons looked like they would work well. I had to add a piece of ash next to one of the thwarts on my canoe to mount the base. After inserting one of the stabilizers I noticed that one of the screws on the buoy side was not lined up correctly causing a slight misalignment when installed. Annoying at best. I haven't re-drilled yet but will try to fix it. I'd rather they just sent me another one but that's a hassle when I can fix it myself. The bottom line is though. The product looks like it will work. It's inexpensive compared to others and relatively easy to install. Craftsmanship is a little poor but not a game changer. An installation sheet would be nice. I did have questions on where to mount on my canoe but no one to answer that. Online videos on You T. did not really address this particular product. All of this was still "ok" UNTIL I got the canoe into the water and used the stabilizers. The base broke the first day causing the canoe to capsize and roll completely over and me ending up in the lake. I was wearing a PDF and luckily for me I was in shallow water. This was hilarious to watch and I'm not major annoyed or anything. I think the base piece with the little gears on it was just defective. If they'll send me another one I can make sure it was just this particular unit. We'll see. The bottom line is that I DO like the product. Just because one is defective doesn't mean they all are. So, like I said, we'll see.

mounting screws
Had to use SS wood screws (11/2" lg) to mount the brackets. Did not have access to underside of kayak. Also used 3M 4200 glue btwn brackets and kayak.

Keeps the canoe and the kids upright!
I put these on my canoe and now the trips out with the wife, 5 year old and 1 year old are actually safe, fun and DRY! :)Easy on and off. If you have a tippy boat I strongly recommend!

Cheap Plastic
Installed this on my canoe to add stability. The very first time I put it in the water the boat started to lean, I trusted the outrigger to do its job, the post that attaches to the mount snapped and we fell in the water. The mount and attaching posts are clearly made of cheap plastic. Not good for a $160 item.

Not worth money 4 a canoe. Maybe better 4 a kayak
Bought to go on a canoe. Hard to mount. Had to add a board across the top. Maybe they will work. Haven't had in water yet.
