De'longhi Argento CTO4.C 4 Slice Toaster- Chrome

Smashing toaster. Very posh looking and easy to use and makes excellent toast. It's the most expensive toaster I've ever bought which is quite exciting in itself :). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend - particlarly if you like a spot of variety i.e. brown toast, white toast, seeded toast and even hotcross buns! Mmmmmmmmm, hotcross buns.........

These guy's r the best. Their product range is awesome and its ALL top brand names, so quality garunteed. Their prices are unbeatable, and I checked around! Delivery time was well before what was suggested, which was gr8, as I eat alot off toast n my old toaster had given up the ghost! I whole heartedly recommend this company and their product.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to put time aside to write a review - with two toddlers plus working 30 hours per week and no formal childcare, these things are bottom of my priority list at the moment!) We received the toaster a few weeks ahead of moving in to our new property, as our old one had been discarded after a loyal and lengthy 10 years happy service. However our moving in date was delayed by 2 weeks so we did not get to start using it until the 28 day return period had expired, and sadly the toaster was faulty from the outset. When we first used the toaster the right hand side would not pop up when the toast was done, no matter which gauge was set. The toast would simply continue to burn. The left hand side would only start toasting bread when you held it, and would not click on unless you continually held it. The left hand side did however pop up. The slots are far to small for a standard piece of bread and only toast a third of it lengthways, and do not fit a standard piece in width ways to compensate. The cancel buttons on either side of the four slice toaster did not work from first use either. More worringly, the toaster causes the electrics to trip (even when the toaster is the only electrical item switched on on that circuit). It may just be a faulty one off, but I would not take the chance with this model. That aside it is very large and bulky with very small slots. It looks stylish but even if it had been working properly, the functionality was very basic for the price. The Russell Hobbs we have had to buy as an emergency replacement at a cost of £20 is far more efficient, neat and has the same functionality with just 2 slots instead of 4 although it does fit a standard slice of bread in easily without a third being left white like this Delonghi did! So we had no option but to contact the company we bought it from via Amazon (Nanobits) whose response was appalling and inadequate, and I am in the process of making a formal complaint to Amazon about this supplier. Personally I would never recommend buying through Nanobits, nor will I ever use them again. It took several communications with Nanobits and they simply refused to offer any remedial action, including a refund or exchange, unless we paid the courier fee for returning the toaster (and this would not be refunded if the item was found to be faulty). Delonghi have now arranged for a courier to collect the item for free, and will investigate. However, in the meantime we have had to purchase a new toaster as it is too essential an item to live without with 2 small children and hectic schedules. Delonghi will only offer a replacement, again leaving us out of pocket and with two toasters. All round horrednous service. I used Amazon to buy between 5-15 products per month, and fortunately have never ever experienced such poor service. Regarding an electrical item I would seriously think twice about purchasing from an online retailer, and instead will only buy electrical items from a reliable retailer such as John Lewis, etc where you can go in directly with faulty items.

This is not only a super efficient toaster, with clear dials showing browning levels, which can be set to different levels for the two pairs of slots, but also lovely to have out on the counter. The crumb trays are easy to access and use. The reheat function is very handy too.

We read some less than excellen reviews of this toaster but went ahead and bought it anyway as we really liked the look of it. We still do- and are really pleased with it.We don't - like other reviewers- find it take slong to toast...and it only gets as hot as you might expect from a metal toaster! We're very pleased.

Settings are rather sensitive and easily knocked into different positions. Toasting is quite slow and small pieces of toast are difficult to extract without wooden tongs but despite all that the results are good and we think it represents good value compared with other four piece toasters.

Awesome toaster. Does a great job of roasting bread. Does get very hot, but then it is a toaster!

It is good looking and doesn’t take up as much space as my previous 4 slice toaster toasts well
