Penumbra, AMAZING
Amazing story, best story out of anything ive seen, great series. the last expansion is basically an eerie version of portal with a companion sphere, which is just awesome. took a few months, but this was some of the best 50 hours ive ever spent on anything. its less than 10 bucks and your computer doesnt need a crapload of upgrades, get it.In black plague and requiem there's artefacts that you can find and if u find them all you're given a code. Instead of looking for them, beat black plague and look up the code and where you're supposed to type it in online. This is much easier and isn't a burden and is overall more fun because it doesn't give you the feeing that you HAVE to find all of the artefacts. This feeling, in my opinion, would ruin the game a bit for me.Very enjoyable game, one of my favorites, very scary, there's nothing to hate about it.

Extremely difficult
This game is very difficult with keyboard and does not work with game pad. I have tried Shaft 13 over 50 times and cannot beat it. If I wanted and action game I would have purchased one, but some of the adventure aspects are good.

Three Stars
Very different type of game. Not what I was expecting.

Wondering how it ends
This game has intrigued me somewhat. Nice prologue that makes the player wonder what is going to happen. You are a young man who has just buried your mother when a letter from your long vanished and presumed dead father arrives on your doorstep. He provides you with some information but implores you not to follow up on anything. Of course, you upend your life and leave for Greenland and your adventure begins as you drop through a hatch to escape the freezing cold and end up trapped in an underground mine..This is an old game so the graphics are not the best. One complaint is no advice about setting the mouse sensitivity higher in order to help your interaction with objects -- picking things up, throwing things, opening doors, etc. I almost died in the cold just trying to open the hatch door. It is also not easy to use the PC controls to navigate through the mine and ward off dangers that you encounter.Creepy atmosphere and lighting help to set the mood, especially when you hear the panting of feral dogs and their howls before you see them. I am only halfway through the game and wondering what is in store for me. As you journey along you will pick up notes and journals scattered throughout the mine labyrinth and the writings foreshadow even more menace to come. If you suffer from arachnophobia, this game is probably not for you. I've played better games but still, I give it a solid B for graphics and player enjoyment.

Top 10 Favorite Game of All Time!!!
I'm so glad I came across this series from Frictional Games, as it was a breath of fresh air playing their style of game(s) - very talented and imaginative developer. Anyone that said it was "Stupid" or "Boring" blah, blah, blah, are obviously the typical CoD players that like the same thing over and over again (same recycled game with a different name and package) mindlessly running-and-gunning through their games. But that is fine, of course, to each their own.If you like story driven FPS games that you take part of with interactive environments and thought provoking puzzles/plot solving, then this game is for you. The controls (KB & M) take a little while to get used to, but not a huge learning curve - they're actually brilliant. As you navigate through the game discovering different places, items, notes, etc, the story unfolds and pulls you in like a really good novel. Some Reviewers also complained about the graphics not being good, which they are missing the point, as the game is more of an `Art Style' - the graphics ARE good, but certainly not photo realistic; however, the style of the game, the storyline, physics, interaction, and audio make the lack of "Photo Realistic" graphics irrelevant.....I can not recommend this game enough - you're really missing out if you don't purchase it and play it.Time for me to jump into Frictional Games' latest title: Amnesia - The Dark Descent.Enjoy

a good survival horror for fear not fighting
great collection, the first is fun and scary, but the second only perfects. puzzles are engaging and difficult if not frustrating at times since you have to figure them out for yourself with little to no clues. which isn't necessarily bad since most games hold your hand. graphics are great in second and expansion and not bad in overture. gameplay is fun but sometimes tame, till they surprise you that is. fear factor is high till it wears off to a mid, just waiting for next high scare, though there are quite a bit. if your a fan of story than this one has a lot a well done but doesn't slow too much, but still a good dose of reading. I loved these games, very atmospheric and scary, fun to play with engaging story, so get it

very scary
Definitely one of the scariest games ever made but also very fun but some of the puzzles wanted to make me break my computer.

Killer Demon Dogs Suck!!!
Boring!!!! Even my 17 year old son, an avid gamer, couldn't be bothered to finish this game. Boring, stupid, lousy graphics, poor game control and those demon dogs, what a drag! Don't waste your money on this one.

Recommended for fans of Amnesia: The Dark Descent
I bought this collection because it was developed by Frictional Games, the developer of Amneisa: The Dark Descent. I had really enjoyed Dark Descent, so I this made this purchase in the hope of recapturing some of that magic. Although these games are not of the same quality, they nevertheless quite good, and you do see some similarities to Descent. Some of the puzzles are real mind benders, and they do not start you off slowly. You have to use your head almost from the moment you start playing! If you are pining for a true sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, this trilogy will not quite fill that hole in your life, but it should be a good fix, like having a good frozen pizza instead of a good fresh one.
