Freecom wonder
This is a fantastic little HDD, good transfer rates as you would expect with USB 3.0 and the smallest footprint you could imagine. I already own a 500Mb USB 2.0 version which I was impressed with, this unit is even better. Its a wee bit expensive but like anything in this world you get what you pay for. Highly recommend this product.

Can't pack your data much smaller (at the moment...)
This drive is fantastically small, much smaller than many other 2.5" drives. I own several Freecom XS and XXS drives, I am very happy with them, I love the feel of the build with the black rubber coating. This XXS drive actually bulges a tiny little bit where the connector is internally soldered(?) to the circuitry board, which is a small dent (I mean, bulge) in the appearance - I am sure this was not intended in the original design, but is due to (cheap?) production... The micro-USB3.0 plug on the drive plugs in quite hard, and without a distinct feel of "snapping in" - again: assembly with cheap parts?Anyway, I am happy with it as a hard drive, speed is very good (max I achieved was ~110MB/s, but I didn't put it to extensive testing), and it's nearly inaudible. I've got two of these (bought separately from different sellers), so far no problems. Unlike the Toughdrive 3.0 I also bought, this little drive will happily power up on any USB 2.0 and 3.0 port I tried so far.One little complain, but not about the product: I ordered from Kikatek, and the blister pack it comes in (the other one I bought elsewhere was in a cardboard box) was just put into an unpadded plastic envelope, so no padding to speak of for a hard drive in the hands of UK Royal Mail! :-S - I left seller feedback accordingly, maybe they will change this now. - The drive did survive it as far as I can tell, and is working...

Excellent portable HD
I have had a few of these hard drives and this is the best one yet. On previous models the USB cable was too small in length which meant it was only fit for use on a desk. This model comes with a more user friendly longer USB cable. I like these hard drives because of their compact size and neoprene protection and have never had any trouble with them in over 5 years.

Previously had one to back up my PC, now ...
Previously had one to back up my PC, now moved to Mac and did not hesitate to buy another. Plenty of storage and if you can live with the really small cable linking the hard drive to laptop a winner

Short cable, and one out of two drives failed.
I bought one of these Freecom drives to hook up to a television for a relative, to provide timeshift functionality and recording of programmes. Connecting it up was trivial (although the short cable meant that I taped the drive to the back of the TV). The TV formatted the drive, and the timeshift and recording functionality worked. Simple as that. After that positive experience, I ordered a second drive, which is now hooked up to my own television to provide the same functionality. The different make/model of television meant finding the option to format the drive was a bit trickier, but that’s an issue with the television, not the drive. As for supplier experience, the first drive ordered didn’t arrive. One customer support query later, a replacement was sent and delivered by courier. The second drive ordered arrived as expected. However, it failed within weeks and the supplier (DigimediaUK) refused to refund despite UK consumer law requiring them to do so. I ended up getting a "goodwill" payment from Amazon that covered the cost, but not satisfactory response from the supplier. The consumer page of a computing magazine tried to get the supplier to respond, but apparently to no avail. So, it seems overall that the product has reliability issues, and if you're going to buy one, make sure to choose the supplier with care.[Update May 2018 - the drive that was working also failed a couple of months or so ago. So, even without the terrible supplier experience, I could not recommend this device, as all that I have received have failed]

Portable Hard Drive
This is my second such portable hard drive intended to use as a back up for the first and for keeping copies of camcorder videos and photos from holidays all in one place without fear of losing the files. Also means I can work directly wherever I happen to be, just by plugging into any computer. Very cost effective!

Great drive
I use this to keep my portable files with me. It's light, and easy to use. And it's a terrabyte! I remember when a ten megabyte drive was the size of a breeze-block!
