Once Operating Fun and Easy
For me not being a techy the initial set up was challenging. However, now that I understand how to set them up and how they operate, I am thrilled. I use their App to change the name of the plug or turn them on manually if I am not near an Echo. The Echo identifies them and turns them on and off as expected. I accidently discovered that you can turn them on for a specified amount of time. That has been useful. "Alexa, turn on smart plug 1for 30 minutes."

Solid performer. Quick setup, and responsive in use. One of 4 plugs was DOA
Solid performer. Quick setup, and responsive in use. A good Matter compliant plug.*Update*One plug wont register, and appears faulty. This reduces the cost effectiveness of the purchase. Its disappointing, since as a multipart they wont send just a single replacement, and I already have them in use and don't intent to return all 4.Reduced from 5 stars to 4 for this.

The brand MATTERs!
I made the mistake previously and bought a slightly cheaper matter alternative to this product that had a smaller form factor that can only manage 10 amps that died on me in two weeks. After realizing my mistake, I went back to the company I trust and have bought countless matter devices from and saw that this better plug had better quality components (e.g., switch, transformer, etc.) and can operate 15 amp devices! In case you didn't know, most electrical outlets can operate a maximum of 15 amps (sometimes 20 with the outlet that has a slit in one of the eyes). I believe that I have purchased eight of these plugs for my home and office locations and the reliability, performance, and quality of these items are almost too good to be true for the price.I remember the days of the original wifi plugs with difficult setup and unreliable connections. Those days are gone! Finally, a smart plug that offers subchannel connectivity that does not congest already overloaded 2.4ghz channels. Many people don't realize that it's often no so much the product itself with older wifi plugs but the limits of older technology which are the reasons old wifi plugs are so hard to install or eventually fail due to limited wifi channels. Matter technology changes everything! My electronic personal assistant was instantly fighting me to set up these plugs even before I was able to open up the plug application! It is that easy. Just remember, this is new technology that eventually will make it's way to wifi 6 and higher routers meaning that if you likely do not have the firmware update yet, then you are stuck buying a hub that can support it. Even this being a relatively brand new standard, this plug works as advertised.

Cannot recommend
Not good - am tech savvy and took a while to set up (vs other brands which were easy). And when I replaced my router but kept the same ssid and passwords, all my other devices transitioned seamlessly with having to reinstall -except this one and am still trying to get it work, despite having rebooted it, set back to factory settings, etc. Plus , if you have multiple automation system apps (ie, Smarthings and Google Home) you have to wait a period of time between adding the outlet to those routines, according to the manual. And I’m still struggling.
