Hours of fun!
For the right kid, this is an awesome set! Inside the box comes everything you need to make a dinosaur diorama with 10 plastic dinos! Each of the dinosaurs is ensconced in its own "dinosaur egg". There's a hammer and a chisel for getting them out of the eggs, a cardboard diorama, stickers to decorate said diorama once assembled, and a full colour educational handbook.Everything is of great quality, with vibrant colours. I love the handbook. So many kits similar to this come without any educational material, so the handbook, which has detailed information about dinosaurs, is highly appreciated. Each egg will take a kid quite some time to crack open fully. There's at least a couple hours between excavating, stickering, dioramaing, and book-learning. For the imaginative kid, there'll be hours of open ended play with the dinosaurs.

Fun surprise for kids
Exactly as described. We buried the ‘eggs’ in a dirt pile during a yard remodel and the kids ‘found’ them while ‘helping’. Kept them (and us) entertained for quite a while. Perfect since they were already going through a dino phase! Finding the ‘eggs’ was fun and crumbling off the plaster to find different dinos for them to identify was great.

Great activity for the kids. A little messy and it's one-and-done.
This is an excellent little activity for the kids. They absolutely love cracked open the eggs and playing with the plastic dino's inside. Two things (neither of which is a gripe):1) This is a single-use toy. The eggs can only be opened once. It's obvious from the description but worth mentioning.2) This can get messy so I recommend this as an outdoor toy.

Super fun!
I got these for my 3.5 and 4.5 year old. They were able to break them apart themselves with minimal help from me. They played for hours. All different dinos inside too!

kids enjoyed
Overall, the kids enjoyed the activity of breaking the egg to find the dinosaur toy inside. However, I personally would suggest not wetting the "dino eggs" because the plaster when wet can get flung all over and make a bigger mess than dry plaster. When some kids didn't use the chisel and just hammered the wet egg, their action of hammering is flicking small wet gobs of plaster everywhere. It's a pretty messy experience when we had a few kids hammering the eggs at once. The dino figures inside are also much smaller sized than what they show on the box, so don't expect it to be the size of the egg like they seemed to show that it is. It's more like the size of those small green army toy soldier sized figures. About 2 inches.

Awesome dino dig for children
This super fun set is a great value. My first grader spends several hours on each egg. The set includes 10 eggs, a diorama, a hammer, and companion audio content. Highly recommended for some hands on fun that increases coordination, motor skill, and imagination.
