VERY GOOD ARCADE RACER
Midnight club is a Missed gem that i should have brought years ago and being that we are in a Ps4 drought i wanted something to keep me entertained so i picked up this serious arcade racer Midnight club LA.What impressed me about this game is the graphics i was very supprised at how rockstar got the la streets to look so good on 7 year old hardware, sometimes i have remind myself that i am playing this game on a xbox 360.Midnight club is a story driven racer that must be played to progress and to do that you must win racers or complete time trial , it can be frustrating driving at high speeds on busy streets and car pop in your line ,but the game rewards with special abilites that can make you driving experiance a little easier. The game contains a very good soundtrack and it will please most ,they are mant different genres of music ,rap ,rock and various others and you can set a playlist to your liking. The cars in the game can be customised to your driving style and you can gain extra cars by beating the various street racers in the story.Midnight club is a game every xbox owner should have in his or her collection good game

Look great but...
Fisrt off, I am not just someone who enjoys occassionally playing racing games, i see myself as being pretty good at them (im not anywhere near a pro, but am more than competent when it comes to knowing how to win etc - i complete all the NFS games and various others and rarely have to repeat races on them)As soon as I started the game I was amazed by the graphics, they made GTA IV graphics look basic as the atttention do detail is excellent, and even the regular cars are recognisable cars in reality (like there are Cadillac Escalades just driving around) which in many games are just 'boxy' looking. The feel of the cars is very good too and customisation of your car is great with lots and lots of things you can do.However the level of difficulty from the start is high, as the AI system gives little room for error, so if you make one small error the opponents will overtake you, and if you crash into oncoming traffic its horrific, meaning often the race is solely playing catch-up. There is no way of changing the difficulty level either so your stuck with it. I found this over time became really annoying having to repeat races so much in the end I stuck the game back on eBay as it got too irritating! Its a shame really, as if the difficulty level could be changed to make it easier, I would say it would easily beat the NFS series, especially now theyve become more 'legal racing' like and has gone downhill since they changed from the street racing versions like Underground, MW and Carbon. The Midnight Club series games have always been more challenging than your typical racing game (ive owned all 4!), however this one I feel is the most difficult of the lot and has let itself down due to this.

Could have been a triumph
I preordered Midnight Club LA, went to the web site for all the juicy pic's and car/bike lists........I awaited with abaited breath excited that this could be the game that took TDU to the next level.........and what turned up after all the hype...A PS1 game with next gen graphics. What i mean by this is that visually Midnight LA is stunning, however the game appears playability wise to be the same as the PS1 versions i.e lazy programming, as the computer AI can do just about anything in order to win, flip a car out and it will be back in seconds - you get flipped you lose the race, Police chase you but not the other racers...which when you finish the cops then take your winnings as a fine.If a game is sold on relealism then at least make it so, don't tell porkies in order to shift a few more copies then make the playability so frustratingly laughable where the players parameters to win are so slight yet the AI can continully pull rabbits out of the hat.I do not have a problem with winning or losing as long as its fair, to me playing games are to have fun and not to be frustrated beyond belief at a good example of a poorly executed game.To some this will be a fantasic game as the earlier versions were to me but to people that have been playing for 10 plus years through the different platforms then its the same old story with a face lift to fit the next gen consoles. Now maybe my great disapointment is due to my own perception of what the game was going to be and not what it actually turned out to be..but i just hoped for a little more than a pretty version of Mid Club 1.

Fun... but hard
Good game with a massive area to explore.Races start to get very long and difficult though so wouldn't recommend for people who just like a quick blast.Didn't think much of the online mode.
