Excellent value!
As a Helium Mobile user, I need an Android phone with OS 12 or newer to run the app that provides for mapping in exchange of monthly fees. I have two other Android phones that do the job with OS 13, both have larger screens, and one had cracked from a drop. I don't believe that any one phone, even if pricey, can satisfy all my needs. It makes better sense to have two or more budget phones instead. This Nokia C100 is a budget phone with OS 12. During the setup, it got a series of system updates and security patches up to 5/2024. It is unlocked, though one of the startup screens shows "Consumer Cellular." I planned to return it if locked to CC. The unit I received, though sold as new, not "used - like new," appeared to have been opened and some protective sleeves were missing. Someone probably freaked out upon seeing the Consumer Cellular screen. I chose to take things further to find out if I really was screwed or not. Fortunately it was unlocked. I first tried a Tello SIM (which needs OS 9 or later, I know because I previously tried it with an old phone). It worked fine after I entered the correct APN settings. This Nokia is now running the Helium SIM with no problem. I had to transfer the code from the authenticator during setup, that's all. Initially the home page shows a line in the center at the bottom which works with gestures. Not my thing, I need 3 buttons like on all the 15+ Android phones that I have owned. Accessibility section in the settings is where you go to change that. It is fast enough for the essential apps that I need. It is light enough to grip firmly in my hand while walking. It is small enough to fit in all my pockets without slipping out. It is not for everybody. I don't have any phones that cost more than $100. Battery life is short, I had to plug it in on my way home. That's why I carry two phones. My other phone, a large screen and heavy Moto G play, on the other hand, still got plenty of juice left.

Not unlocked!!
Bought this item as a Christmas gift went to activate it on our network and could not be done because they said the EIM number was locked. Amazon sends me to Nokia directly they say they have no control over it because it's the previous network. So don't get yourself wrapped up into this cuz no one can help you when this happens you just have to return the item. Which defeats the purpose of buying it as an unlocked phone.
