I bought this heavy gauge twin lead wire to upgrade the headlight wiring on my 97 Ram with Cummins Turbo Diesel. I've owned this truck since 2003 (I'm second owner) and discovered on a couplf of occasions at very inopertune times that the headlight switch Dodge decided to use was not really suited for the amount of 12-volt DC current the headlights draw, especially when these have been modified to have the low beams on at the same time as the high beams. This literally fried the headlight switch main connector twice because of the fact ALL headlight current passes through the headlight switch, instead of the switch being used to control high-current relays that directly connect to the headlights. So, this latter design is what I incorporated to power my headlights and I used this 12-2 12-gauge wire for upgrading my headlight wiring. I was very pleased with the way this wire is designed, with flexible multi-strand thin wires comprising each 12-gauge wire, then wrapping the inside a pretty rugged vinyl jacket to protect it from abrasion and the elements. I also ran both left and right headlight wire runs inside a corrogated plastic sleeve for added protection. I was very pleased with the end results, with lights that get the FULL 12-volt power and don't limit the amount of current needed to enable all headlight lamps to light up the road as they are intended. FYI, the attached photo shows these headlights immediately after getting them all wired with the 12-gauge wire and relays that control them and before I had the low beam projector lights adjusted to throw the light further ahead and converged together for best performance. So, to summarize, this wire is very well suited for automotive wire upgrade projects, and its flexibility makes it easy to use where tight bends are required and they are well protected from damage due to the vinyl jacket encasing both wires. This absolutely came in handy for wiring a light on my truck! Since its in a jacket its quite protected and I put it through the frame. Since I prefer to use 12ga wire this worked perfectly! The wire seems excellent quality and being inside the jacket ingredients is easier to pull through those tough spots without damaging the wires. This worked excellent for my light installation!!

Very flexible, yet the solid insulation is rugged and easy to strip. The internal insulation is not bonded to the individual wires insulation jackets. The wire itself is pure copper, NOT lousy copper clad aluminum wire. This wire is great for making your own nice round cables. The 100’ roll came well packaged and included zip ties and some heat shrink tubing. I will purchase this wire again.

Quality wire, easy to work with,

Even better than expected, the wire came with shrink sleeves and tie wraps! The wire appears to be pure copper, with two layers of insulation. This will power a magnet mounted camera and monitor.

It is nice to have essentially a cord containing positive and negative together, instead of needing to bind two separate wires together. This product makes it easy to run a wire pair wherever it is needed, and it is also nice that it is specified to be good for up to 600V, making it very versatile to use. I have been using it to connect parts of a solar system, where fairly thick wire is desirable, and it is a pleasure to work with. And this is copper, not clad aluminum.

Hard to say much about wire. However, it's good quality, the correct gauge and length. Insulation is sufficient.
