This best entry into the World of Amaro - bitter, sweet, smooth and unctious.
This is the *best* entry into the World of Amaro. It's bitter yet sweet, smooth and unctious - and poured over ice with a slice of orange, provides the perfect end-of-evening tipple. If you want to soften it down a little, just add a dash of sparkling/tonic water, but I would say best served neat over ice. This is a great price as well (basically the same as supermarket price in Italy)

A classic - for a reason
Of all the Amaro digestifs in Italy - and there are many with each region making its own - this one beats them all hands down. It's less bitter than many others, but far more complex, with the scent of oranges, sweet spices and other botanicals that are apparently a trade secret. Traditionally drunk after a meal, it works as a cognac-coloured treat on the rocks or with a splash of sparkling water - at 23% alcohol content, it works better as a long drink. With all the botanicals, you can even tell yourself it's good for you. Decent value too.

Omg this is lovely!
Got this as an interesting drink to try with friends and we weren't disappointed. On its own or with an ice cube it starts smooth and sweet, cloves, bitter orange and herby with bitter finish. We added a double to tonic and loved it. Also we tried with ginger ale which was my fave. Another friend preferred it with a rosso non alcoholic mixer (pictured) and soda. Seems to mix well with a lot of things. Love the fancy bottle shape. 5 stars.
