We're pretty happy with this storage bench. The quality is higher than a lot of prefab furniture of this sort and the finished product is delightful and useful.Out of the box, the parts are packed well and there was no damage. The box is heavy because the wood is thicker and more substantial than other furniture of this type that I've used lately. The paint looks even without drips other problems. The hardware is seems like good quality. All the parts and hardware are labeled well.Assembly was pretty straight forward. The manual is well written with each step laid out in a practical order. The diagrams are a bit small, but I was able to figure it out and I didn't make many mistakes. 2 people are needed for a couple of the steps. For the most part I assembled it myself and it took most of 2 hours to complete. A short and a long phillips head screwdrivers are needed, along with a flat screwdriver. There are some dowels that could be glued if desired, but that's not really necessary.Once assembled, we're impressed with the finished product. The bench is solid. The pad on the top has plenty of cushion. The top opens to reveal a long and short storage area well suited for perhaps books and/or games or perhaps socks in a bedroom setting. The lower cabinets have adjustable magnet closures that work well. The larger side has a shelf midway up to allow more storage. The smaller side has no shelf so it's taller that would work well for boots. The whole thing looks sharp.Only one complaint. The stickers used to cover the screw holes are very thin and cheap. (see pic) They don't look good at all and it might be better to just leave them off. The online pics don't show these, so I think they airbrushed them out. This isn't enough to deduct a whole star, so overall I give this nice little bench a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The cushion is frayed. If someone sits on the bench, I am sure the fabric will split across the bench. I tried contacting the vendor but no one returned my email or call. I am so disappointed. Inspect your product thoroughly before throwing away the box.

This shoe bench fits in nicely with my current decor. The stated dimensions are accurate and it looks almost as good as I expected, with one major problem. There are large holes on the sides, for big silver screws. Technically you are supposed to cover them with black stickers, but that isn't what's shown in the product picture. Look closely, there are no stickers, the holes have been photoshopped out of the image. I don't appreciate that.The product was packaged very well for the most part. Only the back and bottom panels had nothing between them. So, they were scuffed on each other. Those aren't parts you are likely to see in use though, so whatever.As for assembly you will want to have the following:A long screwdriver will make it easier to reach certain screws.Some glue because a few of the dowel holes were a little big.And another person to hold pieces like the doors or lid in the air while you screw them into hinges. I was able to make it work solo, by using big stacks of paper. I added pages until everything lined up.A few of the screws didn't bite well, so they kept spinning at the end. But the bench seems pretty sturdy, so I guess it doesn't matter.Like I said, I like the look. The bench cushion is nice and firm. And it will store a size 11 show with room to spare. I'm mostly happy with it.

I ordered the #ChooChoo 41.3" Shoe Storage Bench with Lift Top Storage, Entryway Bench for my front foyer as I was very tired of seeing shoes and slippers in a pile. The bench was easy to construct as the instructions were straightforward. Once constructed it is quite sturdy. The bench style and color matches my decor perfectly. The bench as 3 compartments for shoes, top compartments for storage and a cushioned seat. It makes for a nice makeshift drop zone. I put a shelf with key hooks and coat hangers over the top. It looks and functions great. I highly recommend this shoe bench.

This is a decent example of a flat-pack shoe bench. It took a solid 2 hours to assemble and parts were kind of fiddly. The black finish scratched quite easily, which became an issue when trying to put the shelf in after installing the doors (as the instructions stated to do). Installation of the hinges was not clearly depicted and had to be deduced. The cushion cover is a bit loose on the foam and shows indentations readily. The black discs provided to cover the hardware look like electrical tape and are unconvincing at looking like the material of the bench. For $160 I really expected something nicer; I think this is double the price I'd place it at.

it's quite a challenge to put together but it will come out nice. Good quality.

Assembly really works best if you have two people to help make sure everything is aligned properly during assembly. Not overly difficult to assemble but it is similar to other inexpensive products where the materials and the attention to detail with pre-drilled holes and such make it obvious this was low in cost. It feels sturdy once assembled and does look nice so overall I say it is a good product but could be better! As of this review there is a $50 coupon which really makes this very affordable!
