Enjoy the Decline: Accepting and Living with the Death of the United States

Self defeating masturbation
Where do I get my $13 back. Please keep in mind that as a conservative, I can't argue with most of his commentary about where we are. Clarey's hard math on trends and balances mostly hold true, but his conclusions as a single guy, looking to get laid and have fun as a life plan, suck. I'm trying to come up with a something a little more high brow, but seriously, "suck" covers it. I get that he's cheesed off that Obama got re-elected (I am too), but I knew I was in for a long, painful read when blowing your brains out was covered as a legitimate life plan. Oh, sorry, spoiler alert. Several points in the book wear exceedingly thin considering the election of Trump, pertaining to what the future could hold for the United States. I wanted to like this book and again agree with many of his observations, but the book just comes off as the musings of a young douche with to much pride and not enough experience to seal the deal.

Was expecting life lessons, got a rant about the glory days
I bought this expecting some quality wisdom as I agree that the left doesn’t think critically sometimes but immediately I developed about a dozen issues with this book.Uses “hard data”, about how how 70% of the budget goes to wealth redistribution, according to the “US federal budget”, I thought it was fishy so I looked it up, not only could I not find it anywhere, but he constantly misrepresents data like how the economic GROWTH has been in decline since 1946, hmmm I wonder why the economy was so hot in 1945...hmmmmUses a comparison of a 1960 Ford Mustang vs a Chevy Volt as a sign of decline. Yes everyone loves a muscle car but electric cars are a step in the wrong direction? Why they don’t sound manly or make your hands dirty after working on them?Discusses how socialism is bad, but talks about using a highway to go cross county...highways are private now? But wait socialism though?Talks about getting a car to sleep in instead of renting then discusses how he has a motorcycle.Talks about his motorcycle then cutting your health insurance because only women, children and old people need it. He’s a hypocrite, don’t work because they’ll tax you...writes a book.He says don’t buy stuff because you’ll need to store it then talks about having a sweet movie set up with surround sound speakers and a projector instead of going to the movies.Says you can’t find a girl under 200lbs then talks about how long legged girlfriend. The entire time I’m reading this I’m legitimately asking if this man is just stupid, hypocritical, or in a cult.

Must read for anyone who is Black Pilled
Clarey cuts straight to the point about the current downfall of the United States empire. One of his main suggestion is to become a Minimalist (living off of a smaller annual salary) and enjoying your free time. The reason he suggests to take this route is that if you do become successful in the business/corporate world, you will often be absolutely destroyed by various forms of taxes (state, federal, and local), fees, registrations, licenses, fines, certificates etc. This book definitely helped my mentality and I am now living off of a significantly smaller salary enjoying my free time (hiking, fishing, canoeing, reading, etc).

Very well researched and contemplated options for the leftist ideology collapsing the US
I just finished reading "Enjoy the Decline" by Aaron Clarey on Kindle, written after Obama re-election. It's about the inevitable collapse of the US and what individuals can do about it. Everything he wrote about the problems of leftist ideology are far worse now. He offers various solutions, depending on your situation, including "vote with your feet" to a friendlier country, or staying put in the US and adopting a "minimalist" lifestyle, or "Going Galt", or taking advantage of the socialist decline by accepting government handouts. He also offers suggestions for when the SHTF and you're literally on your own in a hostile US (unlikely, but nice to know that you have options).

Regretful
I regret spending $6 on this. Within the first chapter the author generalizes and labels people without statistics. It doesn't come across as funny or clever. It comes across immature to me. I was suggested this book based on a joke I made about surveillance. I thought this book was pertaining to that as well as advertising, social media, and data breaches, since that's what we were talking about that day. I thought it would be fun to read a book which delved into how to cope in this new norm within the internet age. I was too trusting of this acquaintance's recommendation. I should have read the first few pages before purchasing.Within the first chapter, he generalizes feminist women negatively. He also brings up celebrities in pop culture as an example of how we're in decline. It all seemed so petty. It's strange to read his laments about regulation and taxation in 2012 when, today, regulatory capture is the norm and the tax cut of 2017 permanently freed many of the wealthiest people from heavy taxes. I have different ideals and this author's perspectives weren't exactly shared in a persuasive way. Instead, he assumes the reader had the same philosophy from the get-go. He goes straight to name calling and expects you to play along. It's definitely not for me. I didn't have to go far in the book to determine that.

Everything's going to be all right--enjoy
He gives a correct read on society and the direction of the country. Following, he describes how to diminish your profile in order to live with the minimum of interference from the parasitic influences that would tax a person, or take their goods from them. Live light. Then, in the middle of the book, he gives "life advice" of a kind that is rarely seen anymore, but is fundamental to peace of mind, to real happiness. The end chapters go back to the instructions of how to live to avoid various interferences by those who would take your living.Buy this Book!

A MUST READ!
This prophetic book was written in 2012 and is now more relevant—after the installation of Joe Biden in January 2021 and a US national debt of circa $30 trillion—than ever. This book should be read by anyone who is unsure about how they should be best adapt to a predominantly service based economy, an overpriced education system, unaffordable and over-taxed housing, ever-expanding government and wages that have been decreasing against inflation for the last several decades. The author simply argues that resistance to the current economic and political climate is futile. Fighting the inevitable, denying reality, or hoping for the best, are no longer sensible options. Instead Aaron argues that one should embrace minimalism, prioritise freedom and experiences over material items such as expensive cars and mortgages, which lead to debt servitude. The author points out that an alternative to an overpriced college education likely to result in an undervalued degree and tens or even hundreds of thousands of debt is a trade school where one can learn to be an electrician or plumber and quickly be out earning a decent wage. Trades also afford the individual the flexibility to be self employed and work part time to minimise their tax liabilities.I’ve read this book several times and often return to it to review the highlights. I wish someone had given me a copy of this book, and ‘Bachelor Pad Economics’ (another excellent book by the same author) years ago to help me navigate the minefield that the modern economy has become for young people. Whilst this book appears to be written with young men as the target audience it is equally valuable for any woman who wishes to read it and chooses to imbibe its advice.I would recommend this and ‘Bachelor Pad Economics’ to anyone seeking lifestyle guidance for the crazy world we’re currently living in. I’m glad I took this all on board years back and minuses my overheads.

Essential Reading for Disheartened Libertarians and Conservatives
Depressed over your loss of freedoms in the West? Sick and tired of listening to liberal idiots who vote to destroy the country?Yes, countries like the USA are heading in the wrong direction. And that sucks. But Enjoy the Decline explains why you shouldn't waste another minute being angry or upset about it.The book spells out exactly how bad the economic and cultural situation is in the US, and that it probably isn't going to get better any time soon. It explains that you need to just accept this fact, and not be perpetually angry about it. It gives practical and actionable advice to help you enjoy life, despite being surrounded by people who want nothing more than to destroy your freedoms and opportunities. And if you've ever wanted to have "revenge" on the left, you'll find the last chapter very interesting...Well worth picking it up.

Hilarious. Sobering.
Absolutely hilarious, and also very sobering. The author articulates perfectly the afflictions of the pinky liberals, and what lies ahead for society as a consequence..
