Nice easy to put up

Not for larger (4"+) turtles. The weight of them getting on the dock pops the back corner up and into the next notch higher

We inherited a turtle. The aquarium for the turtle is homemade. It's a bookcase laying flat, legs added, and a large hole cut into what would be the back (now the bottom). The hole has a plastic bin from a home improvement store to hold water and serve as the swimming area for the turtle. Our idea was to use the platform within that plastic bin as a shallow wading / sitting area. However, the vertical pieces that the platform connects to, used to suspend the platform, those have a hook shape at the top to go over the edge of you aquarium. The plastic bin we're using is wider than that. So it doesn't quite work. For testing purposes we put the platform in our fish tank. It worked well there. I'm disappointed that it isn't working as planned for us, but that's not the fault of the platform.

The platform lifts up in one corner every time the turtle gets on it so I had to wedge something into the hole on the bracket that it sits in to stop it from lifting. The brackets only fit over smaller tank walls. If the tank has a wide plastic frame around the top, the brackets arent wide enough to sit over the tank wall and they do not give, they are hard plastic but I also found a DIY fix for that and with those two tweaks, it works great.

I liked that the platform can be hung from the aquarium edges. The assembly is fairly quick and easy. The unit I ordered is too large for my 10-gallon tank. That is my fault. I will order one that is slightly smaller. This will work for larger tanks.
