The B.K.F is the original butterfly chair that was first created in 1938 by the Austral Group in Buenos Aries, Argentina, where it was designed by the three architects Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy. The celebrated chair has won numerous awards around the world and it has been featured in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1944, where curator Edgar Kaufmann Jr. called it one of the "best efforts of modern chair design." Today this popular icon of modernity is still made in its country of origin: Argentina. The above Vaqueta London model is an authentic original with the classic London premium leather seat cover and solid black iron frame. The chair is made by hand in Argentina from where it ships. The frame dimensions are: 33.4" H x 30.6" W x 30.6" D or 85cm H x 78cm W 78cm D, and the seat cover dimensions are: 33.0" W (top) x 31.4" W (bottom) x 50.3" L (diagonal) or 84cm W (top) x 80cm W (bottom) x 128cm L (diagonal).
