Such a well built, compact SSD
First of all, SSDs can be really expensive and so being able to pick one up with the added protection, decent speeds and massive amount of space is really impressive. To begin with the design, I was really impressed when I opened up the box. The drive is absolutely solid and the frame that goes around the outside does an excellent job of absorbing impact. If that's not enough, included in the box is a little grey case to keep the drive and cable in as well.Moving on to the usage of the drive and you get a cable with both a USB A and USB C attachment, so that you can plug it in to most devices. Plugging it in to my PC, it shows up as an external drive formatted to exFat, so essentially is plug and play. The drive speeds seem really quick. I didn't do any stringent testing, but I was copying across around 1gb worth of data in 5-10 seconds, which is great for my needs of video and photo backup. The space comes in a little lower than the 1GB, but that's fairly standard with disk drives: mine showed as just over 930GB.

Fast and Tough!
If you want to transfer your files fast and secure, then you can’t do much better than a rugged external SSD drive. Not only is it fast, being an SSD there are no mechanic parts to break if it gets knocked or dropped unlike your cheaper external one’s that use disks that spin.First impressions – On opening the packaging I was impressed to find that it comes with a storage case for added protection when transporting it around. The drive itself is well built and solid! This does add a bit of extra weight to it over other brands, but it also gives you more confidence it will be able to withstand a lot more.I tested the drive using H2testw, FAKEFLASH and Crystal Disk Mark. While the drive did pass the capacity test, I was a bit disappointed on the read tests. While it was fast, it did fall short of its UPTO claim. If you cannot achieve it on either USB-C 3.2 Gen2 or Thunderbolt 4 what can you on?My only other issue is when you connect the USB-C into the drive it doesn’t have the reassuring sort of clip in like you would expect. You almost doubt the plug has gone in properly. This is still a fast and rugged drive for the price and overall I am really happy with it.

Quality Rugged Drive - Decent Performance
If like me you like to have the ability to move large files around to different devices, maybe to play movies or transfer music, then historically its been a case of using USB's or cloud services, however now with the advent of cheaper and smaller SSD devices, you can now have huge amounts of storage in the palm of your hand. Hence when I can across this I was keen to check it out.First impressions are good, the SSD comes well packaged and has its own little hard case with internal strap to keep it from bouncing around. The disk itself has a solid feeling metal frame, with a rubber bumper all around the edges to protect it from being dropped. It lives up to its billing as "Rugged".Performance wise I used the standard CrystalDiskMark benchmark, which showed some pretty reasonable results given its a portable drive. My PC has USB 3.1 so not the latest spec, which might achieve a bit faster, but seems unlikely it would ever get to 2000MBs, but I'm pretty happy with the results given its a lot faster than USB sticks.Total capacity reads at 931GB, which is correct for a 1TB drive, and it is a USB type C connection.Positives✅ - Feels very well built and designed, solid metal case✅ - Rubber Bumper all around the edge✅ - Performance is rapid for a portable device✅ - Comes with a hard storage caseOverall for £90 this is not that cheap, but it certainly lives up to its description of rugged and portable, and having 1TB of storage you can put in your pocket is amazing. I have not found any bad points really on this, aside from it not being as fast as claimed, but that is nothing unusual, it is still plenty fast enough for every day potability, and should last many years. Recommended!

My new working drive due to its durability and speed
I do like to have an SSD drive as my working drive , even if it is an external one – they are so much faster than a traditional mechanical hard drive. This one (the 1tb version) is a small external unit with a replaceable rubber protection band – how much protection this gives against jars and knocks cannot be measured but I suppose it is better than having none. The drive comes with a neat small zipped case that holds the drive itself and the USB-C cable. Although it is a neat fit, it doesn’t feel squeezed.I did some testing with transferring files of different sizes, from a few kb to several Gbs, and the average speed I got was 145MBs. This was on a USB 3.1 connection, and as this is a 3.2 drive I may have got more on a 3.2 port. Overall, I’m very happy with the size, durability and speed of this drive and will work well for me as my new working drive.

A very fast and very large SSD memory card.
A very solidly built item. The casing is made of aluminium and there is a silicone protective band round the edges which will give even more protection. You get the feeling that you could drop it on a hard floor and stand on it without damaging it but I am not going to try it! It is compact and light so would be very easy to carry around. The whole item comes in a hard case. The memory device itself has a convenient slot for insertion of a lanyard so thought and care has gone into the design.I am not technical so can’t give you the results of speed trials etc so my view is just my observations as I used it. I transferred some of my personal files to it from a memory stick and the transfer speed was impressive. My files transferred so quickly that there was no time for a progress bar! My picture files took longer as you would expect but it took less than seven seconds to transfer a 1.47 GB file. I had scarcely started counting the seconds when it was done! It is very fast.My current laptop has an SSD of 280 GB and it is around two thirds full. I shall now download game files onto this device which will, hopefully, save buying a new laptop to get more memory. Given that memory is a very expensive, the current price of £89.99 for the 1 TB version of this device represents excellent value. Highly recommended.

FAST but we will see long term reliability
This drive is super fast and rugged. Really love the design and the added case and dual tip cable is perfect. All drives should come as slick as this. The Rubber band around the edge will protect from drops but may attract dust and debris that will not make it look as nice.

The Price
This external drive is inexpensive and easy to install. If you don't know how to install a hard drive, watch a video on YouTube.
