If you hope to be an electrician the journeyman exam can be a major hurdle to overcome. This book does a really nice job explaining what to expect on the exam and how to best prepare. The author lays out what the format of the exam is and what to expect of the questions. There is guidance on formulating a study plan. I found that section so.helpful. along the way there are plenty of questions to practice with.

Well laid out book that is structured in a way that will help you pass your test. It highlights the key areas to focus on and then the practice tests are very thorough and the answers are completely detailed so there's no guess work whatsoever. At the end of the book you get an access code for additional test simulators and flashcards which you will find very helpful. This book is for someone who's just starting out as well as someone who wants to really fine-tune their skills. Be prepared to pass your NEC. This book provides the best way to take a test because you will be completely informed.

I purchased this book as a guide to help me refresh and prepare myself to take my journeyman's test. Its a good book which i used in tandem with the 2023 NEC. However i realized that the book i was sent 2004-2025 edition is not exactly up to date because the answers for some of the questions are not actually within the NEC. For those that own this book the question on pg 153 asks for general lighting in a dwelling. The answer in book says Article 220.12. That article does not exist and was deleted in the NEC. It is actually Article 220.41. Thr answer is 3VA/ft but it leads you to a place in the book that doesnt exist. Ive noticed it for a lot of questions where i go to refer in the NEC and then check the answer to try to find and see it. Its accurate 90% of the time.

This Journeyman Electrician Exam Study Guide is simply fantastic. First of all and most importantly, it’s fully updated for NEC 2023, and the layout makes it EASY to understand complex topics. With unlimited mock tests, digital flashcards, and over 600 practice questions, I feel more than equipped to go out and ace my journeyman exam. Also, I must say, the bonuses were an extremely pleasant surprise – an impressive addition which puts the cherry on top for me with this product. I bought this book for the multiple choice questions. The wording of the questions are to vague allowing multiple answers to be right. Not all questions have code citations in the answers. The ones that do, some questions reference Articles that have been taken out of the NEC 2023. And some of the questions that have the right code reference give the wrong answer in the answer key with the reference contradicting Their answer. Example: 10.4 Quiz 3. What is the required by the NEC for the grounding Electrode conductor in an impedance-grounding system? The Answer in the book sites NEC article 250.36(C) Look this up in the NEC 250.36(C) System Grounding Connection (Wrong Code Reference) 250.36(B) Impedance Grounding Conductor Insulation and Ampacity the Impedance grounding conductor shall have an ampacity of not less than the maximum current rating of the grounding impedance but in no case shall the impedance grounding conductor be smaller then 8 AWG copper or 6 AWG aluminum or copper-clad aluminum This Question gives the wrong Code and the Wrong Answer This is Only One of the Questions out many. Some quizzes have 4 or 5 Questions like this out of 10 Good Job you Get a 50%. It is like a High Schooler Wrote the Multiple chois Question's I will be returning this defective product.
