zidoo Z9X 8K HDR Media Player, Android 11 OS, Amlogic S928X-K 6G+64G Processor, VPU Video Engine and VS10 Image Engine, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, BDMV/ISO, for Video and Audio Playback

I did considerable research on this unit and Zidoo in particular. I also noted the update the firmware and software had been scheduled and released with prior models consistently taken care of by the company. Another range for the company is the Eversolo hifi range of products which has taken the audiophile community to register superior user comments. I eventually decided that the company takes care of their products, even though there seems to be some of the updates taking a bit of time as the software team has to take care of both product lines. Now on to the review... I moved from the Nvidia Shield Pro to this unit. Immediately I notice the sound difference as the Zidoo has Atmos sound codecs. Home theater sound became impressive. I use exclusively .mkv files for playback. The units handle them without problems. User interface is fine. The remote functions are easy to use. My grandmother would not have a problem. Visuals are excellent. One caveat is the price. The Nvidia Shield is cheaper but long in the tooth. If Nvidia releases a new machine, then the Zidoo would need to release new features to remain competitive. I am happy with my purchase but I wish it was $100 cheaper. This is the upgrade path from the Shield. Do not let reviewers tell you differently. The sound codecs are well (nearly) worth the price.

Top! Speelt zowat alles, behalve de hele oude VOB-indeling. Mooie eenvoudige interface.
