I'm actually pleasantly surprised with these shelves. My only complaint about them would be that they're a bit small for cats over 10 lbs. My 13lb. cat doesn't seem to care though. He still climbs and lays on the shelves. He fits on them pretty fine, he just doesn't have as much space as he has on the other stuff I buy for him (I buy stuff for a medium sized dog usually) . Otherwise, these shelves are easy to put in and surprisingly sturdy. I used the anchors they came with and the shelves have held up quite well. I didn't think such small anchors/screws would work very well, and expected the shelves to fall out, but so far they feel quite sturdy on the wall!

UPDATE: Well, 2 years later and these have held up very well ! Hubby made 1 adjustment and we mounted these to a painted 2x4 which was mounted on the wall into studs on sides of window. (photo) Holds up so much better! We had to do this because our bigger kitties wanted up there and couple zoomy kitties were bouncing all over these (back & forth). lol Definitely ordering more for other rooms!Wanted some simple cat shelves to fill in gap so my kitties would have like a stairway up high to observe the grandkids in their play room. These were PERFECT! They are on the small side but my small/average size kitties (7-10lbs) like to go up really high. My bigger ones (10-13lbs) tend to go on a different wall shelf or mostly on ground level. These were great for the money....Very easy to put up....So far very sturdy even with the jumping from one to the other. Don't look bulky. Will be purchasing more to add to other rooms.

My cats love them but the shelves are becoming shaky with screws supplied. I am mounting mine on siding and need longer screws - I think about 3 inch will do. What size/diameter are the screws that come with the set?

I have bought this product 3 times, the last purchase was a newer (better) version.These shelves are light weight, durable, not expensive, easy to install and comfortable to the cats. I have given my cats significantly more space around the house, and places they can feel safe while not hiding. Other shelves I saw and experimented with were made from a material that was slippery to my cats, so they didn't like it as much. I will definitely buy this product a few more times to create more space for my cats to lounge, and to play with different designs. 10/10 recommend!

This might work if you have a very small and very limber cat- but my cat didn't fit on these tiny shelves and couldn't turn around. The shelves are just a stretched piece of canvas across two thin metal brackets. My slightly heavy cat pulled the shelf right out of the wall and subsequently fell and left a big hole in the wall. I do not recommend this product

So, overall, these are pretty good. Unfortunately, the screws they provided with the dry wall anchors don't match. The dry wall anchor is too big for the screws provided and so they aren't sturdy with the screws provided. I would suggest different anchors since bigger screws most likely won't fit through the hole in the frame.

**Update** We bought the original set of perches a few years ago, and I’m not sure if our kitty just isn’t all that rough or they’re really that durable. I’m sure it’s a little of both; but, also more the latter. We not love this set of perches because it was so easy to install and the durability, we just bought another set to add to her perches to go and enjoy fresh air outside or laze around in her girl’s room most of the day.From box to installation, it was only a matter of minutes before our cat was enjoying her view from her new perch. Definitely a good buy.

A well-made product that only gets 2 stars because the manufacturer did not explain that these wall mounts are really only good for kittens. My four adult cats would have nothing to do with these "stairs" because there isn't enough room for them to lay down on them. The product is simply no good if the cat is only able to use the steps for "travel" and cannot stop and linger as they climb. None of my guys was happy with these steps and immediately jumped off when I tried to park them up there...just no room to lay down, smell the roses and watch life and the dog drift by...too small of a footprint. I returned these for another product with a larger bed and now all of my boys jockey for position vying for their right to perch up high (which only underscores the fact that the RayCC Shelves are too small for an adult cat; given enough acreage, my cats LOVE hanging out on this type of suspended bed!).
