Excellent Basic Kit
Excellent both for beginner-level drummers and casual drummers. Responsiveness: - The mesh heads are definitely responsive and feel very close to an acoustic set - The cymbals are good. I still find myself fiddling with the sensitivity to get them where I want them. They're about as close as they can get. But its just really hard to compare these with real cymbals. - You may want to adjust the rim sensitivity - especially if you map non-standard sounds (eg cowbell, splash) rather than rim clicks Customizability: - This kit is super adjustable. I (6' 190lbs) can comfortably play with plenty of room to spare. I can adjust the height and tom position so that my little one can also play - Each pad, cymbal, and rim can also be customized - sensitivity, crosstalk (incidentally triggering a neighboring pad), etc can all be adjusted individually. And, of course, you can change the sound triggered by each pad, rim, and cymbal. Expansion: - The [Nitro Max Expansion Pack](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJRGSWKX) is compatible with this unit WITH ONE CAVEAT: the clamps are a size that will not fit your frame. - I ended up grabbing one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2MN93D6) for the extension cymbal. And an "Alesis Surge 1.5 Inch Drum Rack Clamp" for the expansion tom (link for the product I purchased is now dead). - This is supposed to support a double kick, but I haven't yet invested much time in searching for one. The kick pad does seem to be (just) large enough to support it. Couple things to keep in mind - This is a simple, pretty basic kit. You don't have a huge array of cymbals, you've got two and a hi-hat. If you want to make more noise, map your tom rims (just keep in mind, accidental rim clicks may make your fills sound real weird). - These cymbals aren't real cymbals. You get one noise per cymbal. There is no bell for a sharp staccato note here and there. Hitting with the tip of your stick on the top of the cymbal sounds the same as giving it a wallop with the side of your stick. This may be my biggest gripe. But also totally expected and accounted for. Is it worth the money? Absolutely.

Everything you need to jam
I love it, the support rack is really good to make more room and adjust the heads. The module allows for a few more heads and cymbals if you end up expanding the set, i could see using one more crash to get a fresh hit. It comes with a good range of drum sounds. I particularly like the mesh heads, they have a lot better feel and response than hitting a rubber head. For example some good snare rolls. One thing i would improve is the cymbals are a little quiet, even playing softer i can hear the rubber click coming through my over ear studio headphones. There is the ability to adjust the volumes in module settings, but even turned up all the way they are still a bit quiet. The high hat and ride are decently responsive, i would recommend getting a second crash for more natural flow. I ended up doing the 1/4” output from the module to the DAW on my laptop, and then back out through the audio interface and a headphone amp and can get a lot more out of it than using the headphones jack on the module. It has a blue tooth so you can jam along with your favorite songs in the headphones. Overall for the price and despite a few shortcomings, this a good set up for the bedroom rock star like me lol. I love using it after work, set up some songs on the bluetooth and jam out. Haven't tried it live yet

You want pro equipment, without the cost? Get these! You won't be disappointed!
Man, that was fast!! Thanks for the speedy delivery Amazon, you rock! These drums are amazing! I'm not a beginner, but they would be perfect for one. The size is perfect, not to big not too small. Or, If anyone wants to play like the pros, these drums are perfect too! Also, The quality isn't sacrificed with the price. They sound just as good as the higher priced sets. Easy to setup, too! I had em' setup, less than 30. I am very pleased with everything about the Alesis Nitro Pro series. They have a really nice feel. The functionality is great. Really easy to setup & work the module. Thanks for an awesome product.

I'm a pro drummer and do plan to use this on gigs. First, stand is stable, decent amount of good samples, pads feel good, cymbals are noisy and cheap, module is very simple, hi hat pedal works fine, the kick pedal is garbage it isn't usable. the kick pad feels fine. All in all a good kit, not great, but will do the trick.

Nice little set for beginners and limited space.
My husband loves this set and so do I since it's quieter! He plays the drums every day and the noise doesn't drive me crazy like a traditional set of drums. Easy assembly, great for beginners and seems of good quality.

A Premier Kit for Beginners to last until Expert
All of my expectations for this kit have been surpassed. I purchased mine about 3 months ago, with the intention of teaching myself as a complete beginner. The mesh heads feel EXCELLENT. The response of the triggers is excellent. For me-- virtually indistinguishable from an acoustic kit. Comparable to much more expensive E-kits. The shells are gorgeous! I can't say enough positive about this kit. I have played it multiple hours daily since it arrived and I've just been falling more and more in love with it. Excellent purchase. The drum module has excellent functionality, although I found the preset kits to be a little "eh" I would have preferred heavier sounding kits but there is nothing to complain about-- there is a nice selection However, where this kit truly shines --- is connected to a DAW using a VST Drum Kit plugin. Absolute game changer. This is THE best midi controller available for the price point in this regard. PLUS the additional bonus of being able to add another Tom and Cymbal to the kit for a girl's of 4 toms and 3 cymbal pads. Truly one of the best pieces of musical equipment I've purchased. My ONLY big complaint is it seems sometimes under certain circumstances (hitting multiple drums at once) only a single trigger registers. It's usually with a snare and a Tom's rim sensor. I am confident in Alesis' customer service though. The best in the business. 10/10 would purchase again.

Fun to play and quiet.
Works amazingly with clone hero and is very fun to play on. Even though it is large I can easily disassemble and fold parts to make it fit well in my college dorm room when not in use.

Non Existent Tech Support—-YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN AFTER GETTING THIS
Just got the set today. I went on YouTube and watched how to put together and all went fine. Then started digging through the mountain of boxes that it comes in, literally a mountain of boxes, and there were no quick start manuals, there were no license keys for the included software, there were no books or instructions at all. I just thought I may have missed them in one of the boxes in the mountain, so I went through everything twice just to make sure and nothing there. It is impossible to contact Alesis tech support. I went to their support site and submitted my request and said i would get an immediate response to confirm they had received the trouble ticket. Waited 2 hours and not response. You cannot call their tech support because on their website they say they get 7000 tickets a day…wish I had known their products were that faulty. Anyway, I am going to have to spend the rest of the night putting this mess back into the mountain of boxes and Amazon will be picking this thing back up. I should have purchased a Roland or some real name brand. I got suckered in by the YouTube videos on how good this setup is, and a lot of the those people on YouTube must be lying, as they said they talked to Alesis on the phone with any problems, which I no know is a complete lie. I will never buy something like this again without first making sure I can contact the company if there is any problems.
