Meets the Specifications for VW TDI
I don’t get too excited about motor oil; it just needs to meet the specifications for the application. This oil meets the standards for VW TDI engines (VW 504.00 & 507.00) and several other European turbo diesel engines. While this type of oil is locally available, it is very costly if purchased locally by the quart ($13/qt.) . There are plenty of other brands like Liqui Moly and Mobile One that offer oils which will meet the specifications, so pick the one you like. After some research, I found there are no great deals in terms of cost, all of the oils that meet the VW 504.00 & 507.00 specifications are going to be on the expensive side. However, Castrol is the brand used by VW, so if that’s important to you, there’s your option. I have used this type of oil for several years and many thousands of miles with zero issues. If you do your own maintenance, you might as well save a little money and buy in bulk. Storage and shelf life of motor oil is not a concern. And most of all - it's $5.80/quart as opposed to $13/quart locally. That's a no brainer.

Works incredible on VW 1.8 turbos
Had a VW 1.8 turbo. Was taking a quart of oil every 250 to 300 miles. I flushed the engine, put this oil in it and at 275 miles. It has not lowered one drop on the dipstick.

The best to use, and recommended by VW/Audi with TDI engines
The only one to use with TDIs

Great oil for BMWs
Not much too say, it's the classic oil, only thing I can note is that it came with the old packaging and all that, but it works great for my car and runs smooth and without noises or temps, good value, and fairly fast shipping, good thing I can find it on here because none of my local auto stores had it on stock.

It works.
Ran this for 5k and did oil analysis. It performed identically to Mobil 1 ESP 5w30. No issues, stayed in grade, nothing negative. That said, it was no better than ESP and wear metals were functionally the same as multiple other similar rated oils. It’s perfectly fine, but not better. It’s a great value. I wouldn’t use it for extended oil change intervals. No oil consumption noted.

This is the correct Oil for the newest Audi A4’s A5’s Q5 and more.
If you own a newer Audi look under the hood for a silver sticker, it’s on the radiator support by the hood release lever on the left. This tells the grade of motor oil you must use in this engine. My 2019 A4 calls for 504 rated oil. Sadly too many people do not understand this and put any 5W30 oil in these cars then wonder why they need a new timing chain at 110,000 miles. Quick lube stations rarely use the proper oil and filters. If you want your Audi, BMW and other European cars to last use the right oil. This Castrol Edge Oil is engineered for Audi, BMW, Porsche and many more if listed on the back label. One other point, change your oil every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. 10,000 miles is too long in my opinion.
