A taste of the South
50 years ago (± a few), Mom and Dad would take us to Catfish Kitchens somewhere in the Golden Triangle - generally on Sundays after church. Frequently Mom would buy a jar of pickled green tomatoes on our way out. Some of the local stores carried one variation or another of them for a while but, slowly but slowly less and less places back home carried them. When she asked me if I'd seen any where I live, I had to tell her no as I live in S Central Texas which is very Texan vs where I was raised which is both Texan and Southern. As she had not seen (or eaten) them in several years I took a chance on these from Amazon. According to her, they tasete authentic. Not "just like" the ones we used to buy 50 years ago but "close enough."Great product, good memories - just ask Mom.

These are YUMMY!
I love me some pickled green tomatoes. Use to get them through various vendors til they stopped making them so tried to find via Google search.Took a chance on this brand as the cost for other were massive. These things are YUMMY! they're about the size of cherry tomatoes and the brine is well seasoned.Great for a salty snack craving, salad (including potato and pasta salads) and REALLY nice steak perk addition.I like the smaller jars as my cravings don't hit long enough to finish a large jar of pickled green matoes. Many folks who reviewed these comment that the texture is unlike typical olives. Of course it is...they are tomatoes, with seeds like all other tomatoes.I am also anxious to see how tasty these will be in a dirty martini or bloody Mary, but have to wait til I get some Gray Goose....probably this summer (if they last that long).

Irreplaceable
These tomolives are the secret ingredient for a special drink, consisting of gin, tequila, lemon slice, and a tomolive.Recipe from long-shuttered 'Stars' restaurant near the Opera House in San Francisco. We renamed it the "Mexican Martini".Recommended.

Great taste, good texture, imperfect packaging
Like my title says: āGreat taste, good texture, imperfect packagingā. An occasional tomato is too soft (and very occasionally most of a jar). The packaging for shipping is much-improved as of March 2024, but jars themselves should have slightly tighter lids, and it seems slightly disconcerting that the jars have no other plastic seal.

Didnāt survive shipment!
I love these but one of the jars broke during shipment and leaked all over the box. What a mess. Couldnāt even get a replacement as it was non returnable. Frustrating.
