Missing one thing from the competition
I'm still giving this 5 stars because I use this all the time and love it, I picked it up right before moving and it was instrumental in getting dimensions of our new place. The one thing I wish it did have that the competition (I believe from Xiaomi) include a feature in the app to take measurements and assign them to a blueprint like drawing. That would help keep the numbers so clear and would be seemingly easy to integrate into this app.

Works great, but small screen.
Very small digital display will make it a little challenging to read for most. But does it work, works very well after you set it up and learn how to use it. I did have to go online to read instructions as too fine print to see on the printed insert.

Very compact, well made and accurate
My son is a real estate broker. He saw this yesterday and thought it was great for quickly measuring a room and getting the square footage of a house. The unit is very small, only 3x10 cm. It is light weight with a very legible display. It's made of anodized aluminum and looks to be very nicely done. It has 19 modes of operation, many of which I would never use (Pythagorean, Volume Angular Measurement etc.) . The two modes I use are the linear measurement and the area mode.To use the unit, turn it on by press and holding the center button for several seconds, then select the measurement mode (linear, area etc.) by press the side button. To make a measurement, click the center button, this turns on the laser which by the way is very bright Bright enough to see outside). A second click will then make the measurement. I checked it against my tape and it is accurate. Some negatives. The unit is possibly too small for worksite usage, it is suited more to a pocket for no jobsite use. I thought the instructions were printed in a very small font, not that easy to read and not all that descriptive. Setting the units was a bit fiddley, requiring multiple presses of various buttons. Once set, the unit is easy to use, small, nicely made and accurate.Summary: Very compact, well made, accurate and a bit fiddley to set. It does have its draw backs but still if you want tiny, this is you unit.

Compact Laser Tape Measure with USB-C, but Lacks Advanced Features and Outdoor Usability
Overall, this laser tape measure works reliably for basic measurements and stands out for its compact size and convenient USB Type-C charging. However, it falls short compared to other models I’ve tried. The backlit screen is very difficult to see in bright sunlight, which can make outdoor use frustrating—a common issue with many laser tape measures, especially those with standard displays rather than high-contrast or color screens.Functionality is also limited. While it does offer some basic features like area calculation, it lacks the advanced measurement modes and versatility found in other models, such as those that can calculate volume, perform indirect measurements, or store multiple readings.I’ve used other laser tape measures with easier-to-read screens and more robust measurement options, making them better suited for both indoor and outdoor work.If you need a laser tape measure for more than just simple tasks, or if you plan to use it often in bright conditions, I’d recommend looking at other options with brighter screens and more advanced features.

Confusing menu system, screen barely visible outdoors, laser dot distance limited
The unit charged just fine using one of my phone chargers and the included cable. There are 3 control buttons, A, B, and C, which are labeled "4, 5, and 6" in the manual key. When the ATuMan laser measure comes on it does give a color screen which can easily be seen when inside. Outdoors is different. The colors fade and are very difficult to see. The unit has a menu that can be used to set several parameters (Unit, ACC, LS, SL, and Lang.) Unit in meters, feet, or inches. ACC is 1, -1(accuracy), LS (sound), SL(lock screen), Lang (language). These are almost impossible to set! You are supposed to choose what menu you want to set by pressing the up and down keys (B and C). Then short press A key to select from the choices. It does not work! After pressing keys many times, I was eventually able to change from meters to feet and to inches by pressing A & B at the same time. This did not work consistently. Then I lost inches, and it got stuck on meters again. Frustrating. A process as simple as checking linear distance is easy if the distance is not too far. I was able to focus the laser dot 30 feet inside a building. Outside it was more difficult. I was able to focus on a white building some 43 feet away but had difficulty getting a measurement of a tree 76 feet away since it was narrow. The only way I got that was to steady the unit on a railing. So, if you are using this for distant objects you might want to have a tripod ready. The unit has a timeout timer that stops the measurement function after a couple minutes. This is annoying. It can be changed, but good luck reading the manual which has very small text. I also was able to send out a double laser line at a right angle for other types of measurements besides distance. So, in my opinion, you need a lot of patience with this unit if you are going to depend on it. Photos: show color screens, menu items, and the beam focused on tree 30 feet away.
