Good safety features, quick to heat, strin* steam function
I’ve had this iron for a couple of months now and purchased it to go 8n my craft room for quilting. It really is a space savour with a compact base and an upright iron. It looks sleek and works well.Pros:Slim upright designHeats quicklyLockable feature to lock iron to baseEasy storageGood steam applicationCons:Reservoir empties quicker than expected which isn’t a major issue but you need to stop to refillNeed to return to base frequently so can’t leave on ironing board as you turn fabric aroundOverall this iron was great value and perfect for what I needed it for. The price has increased by a far amount since I purchased it, so keep an eye on flunctuating prices.

Cordless is good
Does the job well. If you have a lot of ironing the recharging can be annoying but it works for me. Is a bit on the heavy side

Piece of garbage!!!!!!!
This iron is so incredibly awful it makes me angry. For the amount of money and time wasted on it.It's a great concept, a cordless iron, but this iron is SO bad.It loses its charge pathetically quickly. You feel under pressure to get one little square ironed before the red light goes on and you have to wait for it to recharge. I could live with that. What I can't live with, is the fact that IT DOES NOT IRON. Everything stays wrinkled.I've given it so many chances, hoping that it would work. I've just ironed a handkerchief (having to recharge FIVE times in the process!) and even that, it can't manage to iron properly. Even on the highest setting, and pressing the 'steam' button repeatedly, it leaves it with wrinkles in it. Which is ridiculous!Rarely do I buy something so bad that it makes me angry, but this iron has. I don't know how it's still on the market. It's money down the drain as I have to get a new iron that actually irons.

Pros and cons of cordless - not for me
I have tried a lot of irons over the years but this is the first cordless one I have used. My favourite iron is a Philips with separate steam base unit at over three times the price of this - that beast is a revolution - but I am also happy with Philips irons nearer the 20 quid mark. After using this one I come to the conclusion that it I prefer irons at either end of the price scale but this one is over complex and under performing. Getting rid of the cable sounds a great idea as it can tangle with the clothing but it does offer continual heat control. This unit recharges pretty fast but doesn’t provide power for long enough between charges and the electronics of transfer and storage of that power adds a lot of weight. So you swap one inconvenience for another. If you are considering spending this kind of money on an iron then you don’t have to go much further to get one with a separate steam base. These are much lighter in use and deliver faster ironing due to the steam rate.

Easy to use
Having never used a cordless iron i was a bit sceptical, however this make is very easy to use and the base plate is small enough to sit where you would normally place the iron. All in all very happy with my new purchase.

Philips EasySpeed Advanced Cordless Steam Iron
Arrived very quickly, and well packaged. Very pleased with the iron, I don't like being 'tied' to the cord, so this is ideal. Its lightweight, and glides over all the creases making them flat. The light on the body helps you 'recharge' which takes seconds. I also like the lock from body to iron.

Useless instructions
This is my 3rd cordless iron & it does what it says, but this is down to common sense on my part & experimenting. The instructions are totally useless whether they are written or diagrams. I deliberately went for a quality item, there are plenty of cheaper options, I would have expected Philips to have instructions sorted by now. I had to scroll through so many of their model numbers to register my purchase as the invoice & box number did not match. They make a lot of irons ! So Philips it's not enough to make a good product, people want to know how to get the best from a gadget. I just hope it lasts.
