I'm mostly very happy with this cooler
I'm mostly very happy with this cooler. The cold water is cold enough and the hot water is hot enough. The storage area is a nice touch, though I wish it was refrigerated. I do wish that the spigots didn't sit quite so close to the wall of the unit. It makes it hard to fill ice trays directly. If they were even just a quarter inch further out, it would be much better. Also, the hot water reservoir is pretty small. It's fine for a cup of tea or hot chocolate or whatever, but if you're making two cups then you're still going to need to heat one of them some other way. Of course, if it was bigger, it would take more energy to keep it hot, so having it smaller is better for the electric bill.

Ah Nice!
I have it in my bedroom. My husband and I both have minor medical problems and need medication throughout the day and late at night. A short trip down the hall, now seems like a mile, and I have that silly phobia about bathroom water. So, this is perfect for us.The hot water really get very hot so you must be careful. But there is a safety lock for children. We enjoy hot tea, and hot instant cereal. The cold water is so tasty that I have no problem getting my recommended 8 glasses. I did make 1 mistake though. I thought that I was buying the lower loading one because there was no picture of a jug on the ad (they should do something about that). The man delivering the water will do the lifting, but I could have saved money had I purchased the bottom loading set. I purchased a jug ($18.00), to fill from the kitchen tap because I have filtered water there. We could have saved $20.00 a month. Otherwise, I am quite happy with the purchase. I lifted the first 40 lb jug, and at age 75, that was a no-no. So, Just be careful, and sensible! If you do not plan to buy the water, or have someone to lift it, then purchase a bottom loading model.

Yucky tasting water. The "cold" water is barely "cool".
We bought this to replace a unit, which had been supplied by our bottled water delivery company. That one was loud and had recently become louder, but it gave us water hot enough to make a cup of tea and cold water that was really cold. Most importantly, it tasted clean and fresh. So, imagine my dismay, when after following the instructions in in the Honeywell owner's manual to the letter, the water coming out of this new dispenser has a very yucky mineral taste. What's more, the water from the "cold" tap is only slightly cooler than room temp. I'm seriously contemplating packaging this beast up and sending it back.Update nearly 3 years later: We did finally become used to the taste and I think it even improved over time. That's the good news. The bad news is that this morning, it suddenly started leaking like a sieve! My first hint that something was wrong came when I found our dog lapping at the small lake that had formed on the kitchen floor. There's no warranty beyond the first year, so I'll have to put this in our recycling stash and go in search of a replacement. How I wish I'd followed through on my urge to send it back.

Nice looking unit, may be expensive to run.
Hot water heater runs more often than I use the hot water. Fortunately, it has an off switch.

Satisfactory Now
The cold water is not as cold as the Whirlpool one I had before. The water has a metallic taste, which was initially very strong but after a month of use it is more subtle. If I end up with cancer then I'm changing to a 1-star review. Not unhappy enough to return, but disappointed.Updated from 3-stars to 4 stars on 5/2/15: A helpful comment that was posted suggested that I contact customer support to get instructions on adjusting the thermostat (you have to remove a sticker on the back that says "do not adjust" and turn it clockwise 45 degrees -- go figure). The metallic taste is gone after a few months, so I'm happy with it now. It still seems like they should clean out the components better first so that the initial bad taste is not there, so no 5-star review from me.

The research says....
I did a lot of research prior to buying this and wanted to wait until I had it a while prior to writing a review. This has been perfect, everything I was wanting and more. I read all the different reviews and was worried about different things like the taste of plastic or any other common problem. I did have the taste of burnt plastic for a little bit through the first jug of water, but I believe it's my own fault. I turned on the cooler and had the heating elements running prior to having the water in there. I have just since then ensured when I run out of water I turn off the power in the back (I love the power buttons for each section on the back). Water has been great since then. I love the three water section with the safety slide on the hot water button. The water is hot and we love it! My fiancée loves her coffee out of a French Press and no heating needed! For me, I warm up my coffee with it and it works great for my morning oatmeal. The convenience this has provided has been amazing, and while I haven't yet broke even on the cost of water, I will shortly. My initial investment was into this and three 4 gallon jugs. I don't buy new jugs or pay someone else to fill them for me, I just take the two empty ones with me to the grocery store when I go and fill them up in the water jug machine for $0.29 per gallon. This has made up cost fast compared to buying individual gallons of water and cases of water. We love that we aren't using all the plastic we were before, and we will soon be at the break-even-point with the cost. After that, everything is gravy! I would enthusiastically recommend this water cooler.

I would not recommend anyone buying this dispenser
Purchased this water cooler/dispenser on Aug 11, 2016. In less than 2 months, the unit is leaking large amounts of water from the back of the unit. I would not recommend anyone buying this dispenser.
