Finally I can watch my old family video's
I do like this if only that I can now watch my old family video's again.I had made a media pc so that I can convert them to a digital format without any loss of quality, given that they are only video tape quality in the first place. All that aside, this has given me the ability to watch and check which videos to convert, it is a very nice device, so simple to use, there is a ability to switch between 720p to 1080p, how this operates I'm unsure as I'm sure video tapes didn't transmit at that either of them levels, I believe video transmitted at 525 lines, I'm assuming it upscale it in the video conversion from analog to digital, It looks fine whatever level it is, and as I said it has given me the opportunity to watch old family videos. The device does feel a little plastic and the leads not the best in the world, but they will get you up and running with no additional cost. (assuming you still have a vcr) considering it's price, I'd say it is an absolute bargain, who could put a price on seeing loved ones again. All in all, I can easily recommend this product, what it can give you in joy makes it easy to see past its flaws.Well worth purchasing

Affordable converter.
If you have an older device that you want to connector a modern TV than a converter like this might be what you are looking for. It allows you connect a device with scart socket to a HDMI display. In the bag you the converter, a HDMI cable, a micro USB power cable and a small guide. The device is made from plastic and doesn't feel the most robust but still perfectly functional. It can be switched between 720P and 1080p depending on you display. This device is really designed to connect something like a video recorder. While technically you could use it to connect an old games console, you would require additional cables to convert their AV output to a female scart connector. Very few consoles are fitted with a scart socket. In fact the only one I can think of is the CD-I, if you can even call it a console. And I am really not sure why the product page mentions the PS3, as it is already fitted with a HDMI port and supports 1080p natively. On top of that it is only wired for composite and not RGB. If you are going to use scart for a console or even DVD player you really want RGB. Otherwise you won't be getting the best image quality. In operation it works reasonably well. Though I will mention that it appears to stretch 4:3 images to 16:9. This may be my display though.A useful converter that has some drawbacks but is quite affordable.

Works seemlessly
This worked extremely well. For the dinosaurs amongst that still have very old audio visual equipment that works perfectly well but don't want to get rid of it simply because your 21st century TV doesn't support it. Well this is for you. I can't fault it's operation and it's one of those things that once installed you just forget about it. That's actually the highest compliment I could give it. I simply forgot it was there. It worked seemlessly. I've had other converters although not SCART to HDMI , (SCART to Component) in the past and it would have it's little quirks in the way it operated like just flashing the screen like a E-Ink screen whenever you switched channels for example, subtly reminding you that's it's installed. No such reminders here. Works and I simply forgot it was there.

Great little tool for old games consoles
I wanted to hook up my old games consoles to our TV and this little converter helps me with this. It connects up easily and worked immediately as it should! Picture quality is as expected with no issues. A product that simply just works.

Cracking product
A good little buy, is this!I picked it up to watch a boxful of old tapes and EVEN some Betamaxes that I'd long since forgotten I had. I must say, that this appears to work a treat and is better than another device of the same type, I had previously tried. For one, the attached SCART cable is a big plus - hugely less bulk and it just makes sense. The included switch from 720/1080p is largely pointless as far as I can tell, but may perhaps be of use on older flat-screen TV's that can only input 720p perhaps? The fact that this uses micro-USB suggests it may have been designed when this was the case. I certainly see no reason for it on the source material, as only the supremely rare HD-VHS would ever get close to this level of resolution.Quite simply, it plugs in easily, outputs without a fuss and all the cables are also bundled for ease. A nice buy and very reasonably priced IMO!

Provides composite quality video via HDMI. A direct RGB-capable SCART connection is better.
I tested this SCART to HDMI converter on a 32” Sony Full HD LCD TV with a Freeview HD adapter that has both SCART and HDMI outputs, as source. Also tried an old Humax hard disc recorder that only has a SCART output. On both peripherals the SCART can be switched to composite or RGB. The converter works well. With the eye of faith it may be slightly better than a direct composite video connection, though logically that should not be possible. The 720p/1080p switch makes a temporary glitch in the picture at the instant of switching but makes no discernible difference to picture quality, at least on this TV.However, as would be expected given that it accepts only a composite video signal, it is poor if compared with an RGB SCART connection. A direct RGB SCART connection is sharper and clearer even on a 32” screen and would be more obvious on a larger screen. Nobody seems to make (or ever have made?) RGB SCART to HDMI or S-Video to HDMI converters so that’s no criticism of this product. Note that RGB COMPONENT to HDMI converters do exist but they are something different. Component (as opposed to composite) is essentially an analogue type of HD.For £12.99 and accepting that you’ll only get composite video quality, it’s fine.
