Pleasantly Surprised—This Thing Rocks (Accurate, No-Drift Cuts)
I purchased this before reading multiple consumer reviews on top paper trimmers, and I began second-guessing the purchase. Although this was highly rated, it often didn’t make the “top 10,” and some of those that did were less expensive. Still, I thought I’d try it—and if I didn’t like it, I’d return it. Surprise, surprise—I really like this. Right out of the package, my doubts intensified. This thing is very light. My first thought was that it might not be sturdy. I almost returned it immediately. But I needed a paper trimmer, so I decided to give it a trial period. Fiskars made a believer out of me—I ended up loving it. Pros: 1. Yes, it’s lightweight (in a good way). It’s easy to move to clear the tabletop for other projects—unlike heavier cutters that feel more like fixtures. I can even set it on its side without worrying about scratching my table. 2. Stable. The rubber feet do a great job keeping it from sliding. 3. Blade vs. rotary cutter (this matters). This uses a sliding blade, not a rotary cutter. Rotary cutters press down on paper, which can cause drift. This cuts from the side. TIP: Push the blade upward instead of pulling it down—this keeps the paper pressed against the guide and reduces drift even further. I own a rotary cutter, and this is cleaner and more precise. 4. Accurate measurement grid. The grid is spot on. On another trimmer I considered, customers complained the grid was off. That’s a basic requirement—if a company can’t get that right, what else might be wrong? 5. Clear cutting guide (wire). This is a standout feature. It actually shows you where the cut will land. With my rotary cutter, I often had to guess—leading to inconsistent results. 6. Durable blade. I cut 500 sheets of 8.5" x 11", 28 lb paper into quarters without noticing any dulling. For comparison, before I received this, I was using a box cutter, ruler, and T-square. My box cutter needed a new blade after ~200 sheets—and destroyed my self-healing mat. 7. Huge time saver. Before this, I was cutting with a ruler, T-square, and box cutter—slow and tedious. This reduced my cutting time by at least 75% and produced more consistent results. Cons: 1. No right-side support. This isn’t unique to this trimmer—most have the same issue. Pages droop on the right side, which can lead to drift. TIP: I use a book of equal height to support the paper so it lays flat when cutting. 2. No built-in backstop for repeat cuts. It would be helpful to have a left hand guide to ensure consistent sizing—this one doesn’t but then again, very few actually do. TIP: I used binder clips and a ruler to create a makeshift left side backstop, and it worked well for my project. 3. Limited stack cutting (for precision). I only cut 4 sheets at a time (28 lb paper) to avoid drift. You could likely cut more with standard 20 lb paper, but I prioritized consistency. I wouldn't cut more than 10 sheets of standard 20 lb paper with this. Bottom line: I went from doubting this product to really appreciating it. Fiskars makes a quality tool, and this one delivers—especially if precision matters.

Great home office addition
This is an easy-to-use, compact paper trimmer that is great for a home office. The blade is sharp yet retracted to prevent accidents. It holds the paper in place well, allowing for precise cuts and trims. This was a great purchase for us and has been well worth the price.

Single or very few pages, great for simple cutting
This is a great paper cutter, especially for lightwork, art journaling collage. Et, cetera, however, you cannot put very many pages in at once, so it's best for beginner/ single page projects. I bought the replacement blade at the same time. But haven't had to replace it yet.So I don't know how easy it is. I haven't used the swing arm.Don't seem to need it. I definitely recommend this item for light work

Great product
It had a thin wire as a guide to exactly where the blade will cut which is perfect for close cuts.

Clean cuts, compact design
Where has this been all my life? I recently got into junk journaling and needed something smaller than a bulky paper cutout. Something I could easily keep with my supplies while still giving clean, straight cuts. I had one of the larger guillotine-style cutters before, and I could never seem to get perfectly straight cuts with it. This new one makes a huge difference; the cuts are clean, straight, and consistent. I also did quite a bit of research before purchasing, and specifically wanted a cutter that could handle more than just standard paper. This one works for both regular paper and larger scrapbook paper sizes, which was exactly what I was looking for. It’s compact, easy to use, and fits in with my other supplies without taking up much space. So far, I haven’t had any issues. I’m really happy with it and wish I had found it sooner.

Good Value Trimmer With Helpful Alignment Features
I received it today and I'm giving it a favorable review. At the time of purchase it was about $36, but with a coupon it came down to about $23. It cuts well and is definitely an upgrade from the generic paper trimmer I got from Hobby Lobby. My only complaint is the white alignment grid decal. It’s a 12×6-inch decal, and in the center there was an obvious bubble where it hadn’t fully adhered to the plastic surface. I used my vinyl weeding tool to poke a small hole and then used a brayer and vinyl squeegee to press it down. That helped, but there are still some smaller bubbles—nothing that affects performance, though. Alignment is easy, and I think it’s the best feature. I primarily cut vinyl for my Cricut projects and DTF transfer sheets, and it works well for both. When you place the trimmer on a dark surface, you can see a 1/8-inch gap between the white alignment decals, and that space is exactly where the cut is made. This is especially helpful for DTF sheets since it makes alignment easier and allows for precise cuts without damaging the transfers. Overall, it’s a really good trimmer - easy to align, accurate, and simple to use. The extending ruler arm seems solid for a plastic build, and I appreciate the extra blade, though it would be nice if it had onboard storage for it. I just wish the alignment decal were applied more cleanly. For what I paid, I don’t have buyer’s remorse.

Nice compact size and it cuts well.
A lot better than expected. It's a compact size, but it does the job and it cuts very well. If you have thicker materials, It will have no problem doing multiple sheets. The multiple lines to help you line up makes cutting jobs more accurate. I used it to cut plastic shelf liners and it had no problem. My previous paper cutter could only cut through most of it. I'm glad the old cutter broke and I bought this one.

Precision cutter
This is a great cutting tool with sharp blades which are replaceable if they get dull. Very precise measurements. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Not Precise at all
Not sure if we're all reviewing the same product but my "precision" cutter is not precise at all unlike what most people are saying. I do see a few other reviewers have noted the same as me. The wire bends, line up the wire with where you want to cut and it's off by a couple of milimeters. The cutting blade moves, the plastic guide bends as you cut so you have to basically adjust the paper left by a few millimeters and hold down the arm so it doesn't bend in as you cut and cause a curved cut. Wish I'd bought the Dahle.

Accurate clean cuts
Great trimmer. The measurements are easy to read as you place the paper over the ruler, also the wire helps you see exactly where you are cutting. I have drawn with a black sharpie on the wire to make it even more obvious. One reviewer had said it's not for crafters, I disagree. It's the best trimmer I've had and I've been crafting for 30+ years.
