DSLR Camera - CPM Camera Rigs Rod Clamp

Until this company decides to use better materials for these clamps...stay away. They will break. I guarantee it. I bought two sets and they are breaking and cracking one by one...and my rig has not even been used yet. If you have your rig in the car during the summer...the breakage will be accelerated. Stay away until they make them out of another material. At least some pure non-composite material that isn't so brittle.I sent them an email informing them of the first breakage incident and they were nice enough to mail me an entire set of 4 more. That's very good customer service, although I would much prefer that the clamps didn't break in the first place. Can't imagine when the time comes to use this with a real load on an official shoot and SNAP! Talk about ruining my reputation for the clients.... What are they going to do? Keep sending me new ones? I know it is super cheap to make these things...and selling them for $25 a pop is murder. They can make them out steel and sell them for the same price and still make a profit.Be warned. But good luck if you try them in spite of my comments.VT
