My 2010 Audi Q5 came from the factory with a dipstick tube, but no dipstick in it’s 3.2L V6.. Just a plug at the top of the tube. When my oil level sensor went south as they do, I replaced the sensor, but also purchased this dipstick. Now, no matter what the sensor does or doesn’t do, I have a manual way to accurately check my oil level. It works great. Call me old fashioned, but being able to see that my oil level is correct instead of trusing a sensor and getting a display on my dash is worth every penny. Leave it to Audi to over complicate something so simple.

Purchased an Audi Q5. As my husband was doing a routine check of the engine, he realized that the vehicle did not have a dipstick to check the oil! He asked the tech how was someone supposed to check the oil themselves? He said that these engines require the computer to let you know whenever a fluid was needed or bring it in to the dealership. Oh no!!!!!! My husband is "old school" and does NOT depend on a computer to check on engine fluids. I was able to purchase this dipstick and now it is my job to make sure that whenever I fill my gas tank, that I check to make sure the engine has oil and to take notice of the color. Technology?? Fiddlesticks!!!

Dipstick measures correctly, which is most important. The only problem I found was the ball shaped end broke off. Thankfully it wasn’t installed when it broke. The manufacturer should revise the engineering on the end. I would highly recommend breaking the end off if you plan on keeping it installed permanently that way it doesn’t find its way into the engine. Even as small and relatively soft as it is, it could cause some secondary catastrophic damage internally.

This is a plastic piece of junk that will melt and damage your vehicle. Do not buy this dipstick. Amazon will not give refund or help with this item. Rude female customer service.

Tip broke off after 3 months. Do not buy.

Great product, great price. I’m not sure why audi didn’t add a dipstick on a $60k vehicle, especially since my MMI occasionally doesn’t want to read, nor gives a volumetrically accurate reading, but oh well. This product helps if your anal or just want to check your oil accurately (as you certainly should). I personally don’t leave this in at all times, as I’m not sure if it is a perfect match, so I leave audi’s “Plug” in, and typically keep this in the garage or trunk.

Computer showed an overfill, bought this and level was a 1/8th" over. Conclude that it is accurate. Audio tech sd over phone that computer is very sensitive.
