What I need for the newer cage for the iPhone 16 Pro Max works extremely well and gets the job done

I have the NEEWER 16 Pro Cage PA073 that I have been using with SmallRig bolt-on handles. I didn't mind the hassle of bolting on the handles because I prefered the no-swivel feature of the SmallRig. However I did not like the hassle of adding a top handle to my rig when all Iw anted to do was shoot some "B-roll" video. This handle attaches and removes very quickly and the swivel of the handle is more of a blessing than a hinderance. The reason I purchased the handle and the bluetooth control (RT005E) separately was at the time the two prices added together was less than the kit with the control and I have a "dummy" cold shoe plug if I need it.

I'm a photographer and without a bluetooth shutter remote, the grip is too far away from the phone to be able to touch the shutter button. So, I returned this version... HOWEVER! The grip on the cage is over-the-top impressively sturdy and solid. You can shake this as hard as you can and feel no wiggle or weakness in the connection. Neewer does sell this grip with remote shutter button and it is awesome! It will even do burst shots. Unfortunately, you pay more from their site (+shipping) and have to wait longer to receive it (without confirmation of free returns). But, it was worth it. If you cannot wait for the bluetooth version to show up on amazon, go to their site. If you can wait and see if it comes to amazon, it is totally worth it. Best "phone" accessory I have bought yet. *I would post a photographer, but I cannot take a photographer of my phone with my phone. Yeah, mind-blowing.

They work as advertised in a very comfortable just be careful to use. I mean to make sure that they are securely attached.

Uncomfortable to hold. The handle need to extend another inch out more. There's not enough room space , so your fingers press against the locking mechanism, making it uncomfortable to hold. I'll try using it a few more times, but I'm considering returning it.

The quick release mechanism is only so so. I find it finicky to install and it doesn't easily inspire my confidence in terms of secure attachment. I ended up buying the screw-on version, which I think I like much better. The screw-on version doesn't really take much longer to install, and the attachment feels much more positive and secure. Owing to the design of the cage at the bottom side of the iPhone, where it has been slotted to allow access to the phone's speakers, mic and USB port, it's possible to inadvertently crush the frame with the quick-release clamp when tightening to lock. I did... This is a design problem. Finally, the cold-show caps need to have their friction fit adjusted. Right now they pop out way too easily. I have two of these handles. One is not too bad, but the other is so loose I am thinking to either just not use the cap (less I lose it) or stick it in pace with adhesive. As the caps are made of nylon, this is a moulding issue, probably to do with too short a cooling cycle in manufacturing leading to excessive shrink. Neewer, if you're reading this, I suggest you have a word with your moulder AND your QA staff.
