Jenny, don't stop!!
Jenny Allen really is one of the funniest writers ever. I have seen her stand-up and she was delightful, charming and a hoot. I still reference her when I am trying to make people laugh by doing her bit with endless hand-wringing and waving gestures... "What is this," she asked. Of course!! Trying to get the stupid faucets to work in airport bathrooms. It's a joy now to have her book on my bedside table and dip into the different chapters.. and then doze off with a smile on my face (after I have closed the book of course!!)More, Jenny! More..

Full of insights
She is insightful and funny and has a lot to say . I listened on CD. I don't know if one would get it all if read. But the CD was much more expensive.

Starts with a bang and ends with a whimper
After the first couple of chapters I thought I'd recommend this to my friends. Luckily I kept reading it before I got around to that. While I can cuss like a sailor myself I don't like writing like that. The stories went downhill (Elmer Fudd, really?) and I was glad when it was over.

Especially good for doctors' offices
I take this with me when I go to the doctor. I read the short essays while I'm waiting in the reception area, and laugh my head off. It's really very funny and takes a lot of the anxiety out of what I'm there for.

A superb, hilarious read.
A wonderful, funny and smart collection. I actually laughed out loud while reading it in a crowded subway car. With each piece, the author's voice and life becomes richer, funnier and more emotionally involving. Just one problem: Now I have to wait for more.

and so very very funny. I love this book
This is one of the funniest, most compassionate, most mature and gorgeous books every written. This author is assured yet vulnerable and delicate, and so very very funny. I love this book. I will read it many times.

Excellent, easy summer read
This book is perfect for someone who wants a light read with quality content. By this I mean that although the subject matter can sometimes be rather heavy (cancer, divorce, etc., depending on the chapter) itβs written in such a skilful way that it remains buoyant (and often downright hilarious) from start to finish. I actually had tears rolling down my cheeks (from laughing) in her essay about not having to drive her teenagers around anymore, and about looking to Kid Cudi for life advice and a financial investment in her business idea. Great summer read. Highly recommend.

I expected it to be funny (and it was) -- was also surprised by its poignant moments. I'll definitely read it again, because Allen writes clearly and well. Recommended.
