Ruffwear, Knot-a-Long Dog Leash 30-inch met my expectations
Ruffwear, Knot-a-Long Dog Leash 30-inch met my expectations. Color: Pumpkin (I liked the granite color, but pumpkin stands out as far as color). As other reviewers posted, the con is it does not have a swivel hook/carabiner. I was fully aware it did not have a swivel hook/carabiner, so the leash does not get a ding. The description and pictures demonstrate there is no swivel hook/carabiner. I do use it with a Sprenger prong collar, which has a swivel hook on the collar. The leash is perfect length for those who want more control and only want to do minor adjustments with the length - as opposed to a 6-foot leash that requires additional adjustments while on walks. Note: I still own and use 6 foot leashes for training. The Knot-a-Long 30 inch leash is comfortable, and fits small hands. Webbing handle is comfortable and easy on the skin. If you have sensitive skin (e.g. eczema on hands), the fibers on the rope portion may be a little rough if the need arises to correct your dog (suggest gloves - e.g. bike gloves). Ruffwear Knot-a-Long leash 30 inches met my expectations and so far has held up.

Carabiner clip does not swivel- otherwise another good product by RUFFWEAR
We love rope leashes! We bought GOMA brand before and were looking for a short traffic leash that features the same handle part. I am not a fan of the think handles. We found the Ruffwear leash. Nice feel!Only CON: the carabiner does not swivel, so if you dog uses a prong collar or a harness that does not have a swivel adapter then that combo is not useful. Also the carabiner I self is quite thick, making it hard to fit through the swivel adapter on my dog’s prong collar. I think that’s a design flaw and hope it can be corrected in the future.

Just what I was looking for!
This leash is great! I needed a short leash for running with my 90 lb lab. I am 5'5" and this leash is the perfect length. I am able to move both my arms without pulling on my dog and he is right beside me. I also love the little loop just below the handle to attach my phone holder, my keys, and the baggies. It is comfortable to hold and seems sturdy and durable although I have only used this once so I won't rate those features. My dog loves playing with rope toys so I have to make sure I store where he can't get it. I highly recommend this leash!

Pricey - But Nice
Paying $30+ for 30" leash seems crazy, til you buy one and realize you're paying for good quality end to end. I adopted a Korean Jindo (rescue) and at 45lbs she is solid muscle. Because of the past abuse, she by nature is skiddish. So high quality, sturdy leashes are a must. Had this for a few months now and I love it. Especially when in city settings. Keeps her closer to me, calm and easier to control if she wants to dash (because a noise scared her).Pro:+ Comfy handle+ Solid Clip+Thicc RopeCon:-Price (but it's worth it)

If only I could give 10 stars....
We love Ruffwear products! We already have their lifejacket for our dog to wear on our boat. When we found this leash locally at a sports chain store, we bought it and immediately fell in love with the better control of our border collie and its superior durability. We recently rescued a second border collie and I looked instantly to amazon and bought a second. Not surprised by its durability and very pleased with this purchase. IF they ever wear out, we'll buy the same to replace it,

love it
This is my main go to leash. The only issue I had with this is I wish it had a swivel end. I'm not taking away any stars for that though because I know that's what it was like when I bought it. I ended up buying another small clip with a swivel to use on my dogs leash.

Our go-to leash
I have a reactive dog, so a short least is a must for me to be able to control her on busy sidewalks and in the apartment building. I love this leash because of the length and the sturdy carabiner. As others have noted, the lack of a swivel attachment is a tiny bit annoying (especially since my dog circles before pooping) but it's not as inconvenient as I worried it would be.My dog's 50lbs and decently tall, so the leash might be too short for a smaller pup - but for us, it's perfect!

Best leashes out there
“Knot-a”-leashes are my favorite leashes. They are great with the pulling power of my two Siberians. I use a Canicross treeking belt to run/walk my dogs with the mushing half harnesses.During events (like 5K’s) I like to use the shorter leash as it’s usually very crowded at these type of events.Never worry about leash breaking, very strong. If you have to grab the leash quickly, you do not risk cutting your hand as you may with other leashes as they slide through your palm. The handles are very comfortable with some padding.(side note.... I replace the screw locking carabiner with a ball self-locking carabiner. Personal preference, easier for me to use).

Value and strong
This is one of the best leads I’ve purchased. I’ve got the longer one too. These last for years. Value and quality materials used. My Neapolitan Mastiff is a big lad so we need a good quality strong lead for safe walks next to roads or other dangers where full control is needed.

Perfect length lead!
We found our previous lead would get under the dog’s front leg, I thought this would be too short but even my tall husband prefers it. It’s fabulous!

Really great quality
This is exactly what I have been looking for, I use it with a harness which allows just enough freedom to stop and sniff without getting too far away, great for walking in crowds, locking clip gives peace of mind, handle is very comfortable. I'm really pleased with this and can't fault it.

Style over substance
Nice short lead for close control but has a tendency of loosening and opening every now and again - luckily I have a well trained dog that doesn’t bolt. A piece of rope tied in a slip knot would be better.

I walk both my dogs on this lead it is ideal as it allows them to be under control till we reach field where they can run and play to their hearts content
