My go to brand since the 60's and 70's.
I have no problem with this reel. Love everything about it, looks, palming, casting, drag and T-Wing System. Daiwa has been a brand I've used ever since my dad put one in my hands in the late 60's. I have landed a many of red drum, black drum, speckle trout, sheep head and other species with these reels. I have many other brand names as well and some of them are good equipment, but Daiwa has been at the top of my choice. It's a solid reel, got it dialed in right and so far, I'm still happy with it.

Strong, casts really well. Worth the purchase.
It met all my expectations. It was timely shipped. It has a quality feel to it. It feels a bit large in the hand, but it does palms well. The braking system makes this reel even better. I want to give it 5 out of 5 but I haven't fished it yet. I paired it up with a Dobyns Fury 735c with 50lbs braid for frogs, swim jigs, and small swimbaits. It makes a nice combo.Finally, I got out to use this reel. First i was casting a heavy plastic swim bait. The reel performed flawlessly. No problem casting. On the Fury 735c, the combo just threw the lures across the lake. Next i threw a swim jig which in the first cast i slammed into the water short causing a backlash, but that was my fault. After digging out the backlash i had no issues. The reel worked great. I am hoping to buy another.

BUY IT.
Just got these today! I have owned the Tatula tactical for 4 years and have run it hard. It is hands down the best reel I have found for heavy applications and smaller baits when needed. These are the same reels just a few cosmetic differences. But man are they beautiful!! Butter smooth out of the box!!! Drop the coin and get one. You will be pleased!

Bought a second one for a gift.
Very smooth. Bought primarily for skipping docks and was not disappointed. I don’t know about durability yet.
