My size is 56 do i go for size 2 or 3.

Go for size 2 the velcro goes all the way round , the only negative is that it irritated the back of my knee after using it for 12 hours at work the back of my leg got so itchy but it did the job while I was on my feet all day you can have it as tight as you want without it I wouldn't have been able to work as I am a carer and work long shifts so it really helped me in that respect so I'm glad I ordered it great support and it has little gel lines on the inside so it stays in place better .

My size is 52 would I be better going for a 3
