Neocraft 40050 2 Piece Animal Trap, Silver

IT WORKS GOOD BUT THE TRAP "PLATE" IS ANGLED AT TOO HIGH SLANT ON THE SMALL ONE USED FOR KITTENS SO I HAVE TO PUT A DOGGIE PAD OVER IT SO THAT THE KITTENS WILL GO TO THE FOOD AND NOT TRY TO JUST EAT THE TINY AMOUNT OF TUNA FROM THE SIDES AND BACK OF THE TRAP. THE DOOR DOES WORK GREAT AND OTHERWISE EASY TO USE...OR IF SOMEONE IS CLEAVE ENOUGH TO BEND THAT PLATE THAT IS TO SNAP SO THAT KITTENS CLIMB OVER IT DO THAT?? MY OTHER TRAPS TRAP BLADE DO NOT HAVE THAT SHARP OF A PLATE..WHICH I WOULD ALSO SAY THE EDGE OF THAT PLATE IS SHARP AND COULD POSSIBLY INJURE A SMALL KITTEN WHICH WE ARE TRYING TO TRAP

This arrived quickly and is already set up. I tied up the door so the feral kitten I've been feeding will get used to it. I have already trapped it! Very easy trigger. Sturdy. Felt the inside edges and they were smooth. Only downside and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is nary an instruction book! Not one single piece of paper! No warranty info! Nada! I already have one of the kittens I will foster and rehome - safety for me and the animal is of utmost importance, so the lack of instruction for proper use was disappointing. Overall, though, I still recommend it for value, ease of use and quality.

UPDATE: Unusable because of how bent out of shape the door flap was. Returning item. The body of the trap is sturdy, but the door is is flimsy. I doubt it would hold an angry groundhog!Original review:Trap door of the bigger trap was completely bent out of shape when I took it out of the box. I have managed to straighten it, and the trap seems functional, but if I can bend the trap door, what will a big, strong, angry groundhog be able to do! Also other parts of the trap are bent, and the piece of wire that’s supposed to hold the door open so I can bait it is broken. Not very encouraging when this trap generally got such great reviews for sturdiness.

I caught a BIG cat the 1st day I used the trap within 3 hours of using the large trap. Inside of the cage I did place a piece of cardboard the length and width size of the cage. I used canned tuna in oil and smeared a trail of the tuna along the cardboard and placed the remaining can of tuna in the back corner of the cage. (The cardboard and tuna suggestions was something I saw on youtube) And it worked like magic!!!

Ended up using a cardboard box for kittens. Didn’t need this until ready to catch the adults. The metal arm on the big cage came too short and wouldn’t hold the trap open. I was able to bend it so it should work. The small one is fine. But the kittens were too small to trigger it. Back to the box and it worked.

Video shows a trap at the end of the video catching a kitten.I've caught 5 kittens, and 3 adults and 1 opposum so far. I let the opposum go free.My unit appeared to be a returned unit. No instructions or documentation was provided. I searched online and found set up instructions.

I ordered 5 of these, only 4 have arrived at the moment. Of the ones I've received I've had to adjust the trip mechanism on half of them to make them work properly. This comes with two traps, wish the second trap was a little bigger. I would order again though, worth the price
