Stuhrling Original Men's Classic Swiss 'Ascot' Watch #601.33152

I bought this watch as a daily wear for work. I need quick access to the time so a standard light watch was what I was looking for. This was the best I could find for the price point. At first I was a bit leery because I didn't think you could find a good quality thin watch at this price, but I was pleasantly surprised. I waited at least a month before writing this review to be sure my initial impression lasted, and so far so good.When I bought this watch, I knew nothing about the company, but I was even more pleased to learn that they are a swiss watchmaker that makes nice affordable timepieces.The Pros: The watch is very clean, simple and professional looking which fits with my normal work wear. The overall look with the leather strap can be considered casual dress or just a simple clean looking watch. It is thin and light to the point that I forget i'm wearing it. It easily slides under your cuff if you wear a long sleeve and doesn't catch (at least for me). The time I set about a month ago is still spot on, no adjustment necessary.The Cons: The watch doesn't have a second hand on it, but honestly I don't miss it. I imagine it adds to battery life not to have a second hand and it gives the dial a much cleaner and non-busy look. A second hand is over rated IMHO.Overall I highly recommend it. It comes in a very nice watch box with instructions, a cleaning cloth, and other paperwork and would make an excellent gift or daily wear for a person in a professional/office environment, or just used for dress or casual dress events, or as a watch for a special occasion (e.g. graduation, first job, etc..)

i purchased this watch as a birthday present for my father. he's turning 73, and he is somewhat conservative.i ordered mostly because i liked how simple and elegant it looked in the image, my father does not like conspicuous consumption, so i avoided anything that is gold, or what he would consider to be too "flashy".i received the watch today and i like it overall, though the face was a bit larger than i was imagined and the band was not what i was expecting. the size of the face is acceptable, but the band is an alligator pattern and pretty shiny. from what i could see of the band on the image when i purchased it i was expecting smooth leather with a single raised line down the length of the band in a matte black. i would much have preferred this type of band as i think it is much more understated and elegant and would fit the look of the watch face much better. i also expect my father would have preferred another less "flashy" band (yes, my father considers shiny leather "flashy"). as it is now i'm expecting some commentary on the band as i hand over the gift, i'll keep you posted!one thing i really like about the watch is that it does not have a second hand, only a minute and hour hand. i also really like the simplicity of the face and hour marks.the packaging is also well done. it's perfect for a gift as the packaging gives it some heft and pomp and lots of little bits of paper with lots of info. one bit of paper mentions that the watch comes with a 2-year warranty and if you write a review on Amazon, it gets extended for one more year. who can resist a 3-year warranty in exchange for a few comments? not me!overall i am pleased with the purchase.

This watch worked very well.. at least for 12 hours. Every time it hit 6:04 am/pm it would stop ticking. I took it to a watch shop given that something was mechanically flawed; I was told the price of the repair would be more than the watch itself. As a final thought, I wound the watch over 20 times hoping it would perhaps power it. The next day I boxed it up and dropped it off at a UPS drop box. I was refunded the price and shipping within four hours.The watch looks good and feels very light. I would almost say for $70 it was quality considering I doubt all Sturhlings stop at 6:04 twice a day. The strap, like many suggested is fake and feels/looks cheap. The packaging is surprisingly good; Amazon box over a shell over the watch case shows they have pride in their product.I would not say this is a bad watch, merely I had a poor experience/flawed product. I would say that you will be taking a gamble when you buy a Stuhrling Classic Ascot.

I had a Stuhrling Ascot for four or five years. I initially bought it because it looked simple and elegant, and inexpensive. It was the only watch I wore, and I wore it every day. It is very thin, lightweight, and comfortable, and it always kept time perfectly. I replaced the band after a couple of years, but I never needed to replace the battery. I accidently broke it, and I've just recently bought the same watch again to replace it. I've had much more expensive watches that were not as elegant, not as comfortable, and not as reliable. This watch is a bargain.

I ordered this watch in June to give as a gift to my husband on July 31st. He wore it for one month and the thing stopped working. I took it to the watch repair man who informed me it would cost more to fix than what the thing is worth !!!Poor quality ~ although the watch looks nice

Although not as flat as it might appear because of a center "bump" below the watch it is still thin. It does exactly what I want. Provide a time indication on a thin and elegant watch. No frills wanted and I got everything I expected.UPDATE: The stem fell out. Since I actually do not do anything that would assert such a failure condition I am reasonably certain that it is a flaw in either design or manufacture. I liked the watch, but since it failed so easily I decided it was not worth pursuing warranty repair. The band is on one of my other watches now...

Lo encontré muy barato. Me quedó y funciona a la perfeccción. Se ve elegante sin ser ostentoso, que es justo lo que buscaba. Al parecer no es resistente al agua. Me he lavado las manos con él puesto y no he tenido ningún problema. Sin embargo, no recomiendo bañarse, ni nadar con el reloj puesto.

Sehr schöne, dünne und schlichte Armbanduhr. Die Uhr war ein Geschenk und als solche ist sie begeistert angenommen worden. Preis und Leistung fand ich mehr als OK. Sie kam edel, sogar mit Garantie und kleines Tuch in einem Geschenk Karton an. Sie hat zwar ein größeres Ziffernblatt als die alte Uhr, ist dafür aber sehr, Sehr leicht und auch mal ohne Brille abzulesen. Klare Empfehlung.

No se puede pedir más. El regalo llegó antes de lo previsto y en perfectas condiciones. Una compra totalmente satisfactoria. La correa se ha desgastado en pocos meses, pero el reloj funciona perfectamente. Por ese precio, merece la pena.

Just as advertised. I bought this on-line on the chance that it would look as good as its photo. I enjoy the clean look of the face, the near-perfect antique white, the quality of the leather band. This is the watch I hoped it would be.

Good stuff...worth for the money...awesome design...
