works with 5ghz.
This is the 4th doorbell I have tried. I did not know that I had to get one for 5 ghz which was my router setting. So first one only worked on 2.5ghz. second two neither of them would charge up. However this one worked a treat from the word go. Charging immediately and very easy set up instructions. Was able to do it all myself. highly recommended.

Don’t hesitate!! Buy it !!!
I’m already a huge fan of Reolink and own several of their other cameras, so when I got fed up with paying a subscription for my existing doorbell camera, I decided to try Reolink’s latest-generation doorbell. I’ve been really impressed. The camera quality is excellent and the build quality feels far more premium than the price would suggest honestly, it feels like something that should cost two or three times as much. The Reolink app is also brilliant and works really well alongside my other cameras. One tip: try not to position the camera facing directly into strong sunlight, as it can struggle with the glare. Overall, another excellent Reolink product and very easy to recommend.

Great camera, poor experience
I will start by saying I have had a Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi for years and was very happy with it until it started fogging up and became unusable. I decided to upgrade to the newer version based on the improved image quality and the fact it still states it supports 24/7 recording. Out of the box it looks and feels like a quality unit, but as soon as I have come to install it that's where my praise ends. The space inside the mount is so limited Vs the old version it won't sit within it's mount when the supplied wiring kit is used. The screws provided immediately rounded so I had to use a screw extractor and provide my own to mount. The mount itself is incapable of holding the unit in place, it simply does not lock in and retain and will fall out on its own. In the old unit the pin hole to release was on the bottom, but on the new it is on the top creating a water entry point for it to flow down inside the unit, wouldn't be surprised if it dies this winter. Having modified the mounting bracket to fit the connectors, and secured the unit in place to circumvent the poor mounting. I proceeded into the app to find the unit does not support 24/7 recording as advertised and I cannot connect to my NAS as per the old unit. I attempted to use the time lapse function, but when hardwired this drains the battery quicker than hard wiring can charge it to the point at which after half a day the unit died despite being plugged in. When trying to view the footage it states it requires caching, which does not work so this function just fills your memory card with no benefit. The rich notifications do not work despite turning them on in the settings, and just to add insult to injury when I mowed the front lawn the moment was enough to completely deplete the battery and turn the unit off dispite being hard wired, with it taking more than 24hrs to get back to 20% battery where the notifications turn back on again. Having owned for 3 days, I'm annoyed at myself that I persevered to modify the unit to make it work rather than returning it. At £119 it is more expensive than the competition by a fair amount and more than the £85 I paid for the old version that surpasses this on every front. Save your money and the headache and buy a different unit

Still some software oddities and inconsistencies but mainly good.
Reolink Doorbell V2 attached to Reolink’s standard home hub. Actually I would give the camera 3.5 at the moment with the potential of being higher in the near future. What’s good. Picture quality General build quality. Events recorded seem to capture video straight away. (rather than after people are leaving) Choice of 2.4gz or 5ghz Wifi connections. Angled wall mount comes included with kit. Connection to other ecosystems is excellent. (Alexa/Google/Homey Pro/Home Assistant etc) Default selection of power settings work very well. Software flexibility. (Alter settings as per your requirements) Free event image capture up to 25 events per day optional via Reolink cloud. Home Hub users can use their Hub as a Chime. Initial basic setup and wall mounting was quite easy. What could be better. Mine came shipped with April 26 software which wasn't great see comments below. Custom PIR settings often cause inconsistent behaviour for example some events not captured. Battery drainage improved on latest firmware but could be better see comments Event detections can take up to 10 seconds to arrive. The camera does take a lot more tweaking to get right compared to my prior Ring Plus doorbell. (e.g Other motion is on by default and wakes camera up on any motion reducing battery life) Comments Firmware:- I ordered end of June and mine came 2nd July, oddly once delivered Amazons site changed to will be released on 20th July? so not sure what happened here and if I got an earlier unit. The firmware installed was April 26’s and to be honest was full of bugs including tweaking PIR trigger intervals would break PIR detection, and Battery life was dreadful early test indicated around 6-7 days of battery life. I reached out to Reolink who updated the firmware to May 26 Firmware 26052801. Which has made a massive difference to the battery life and general functionality has improved, I went from about to return the unit to keeping the unit. Wifi /Battery :- So I also bought from Reolink the new Argus Magicam that uses 2 AA battery’s, and uses the same new wifi chipset and also claims of 9-10 months battery life. The Argus Magicam Cam get 10-15 events per days, in the 67 days I’ve tested battery has dropped from 100% to 76%. Now the new Reolink doorbell with the newer May 26 firmware drops on average 3% per day using 2.4ghz wifi connection and 5% per day on 5ghz. (Testing done over may days once everything setup and stable) So on 2.4ghz I would need to charge once per month which is good but not as good as my Reolink Magicam using same chipset and only AA batteries, hench my comment I think more updates may follow for battery performance. The doorbell is set to smart power mode which seems to be best in my testing. (The Argus magicam is using custom modes with max settings for detection, which in theory will be use more power than the smart power modes) Also the Doorbell and Argus magi can almost have the same number of events per day given locations placed. Inconsistencies:- Changing PIR Detection sensitivity higher e.g 70 to 100, or altering PIR Trigger interval can on occasion create missed events. Examples Moving sensitivity from 70% to 80% seemed to cause a lot of missed events compared to defaults in smart power modes 70% Sliding trigger interval to 120 on many events caused PIR to not detect (but fine at 60) To be fair it seems a simple reboot resolves and improve matters but as it doesn’t do it every time you alter its hard for support to review. In my testing since early July 26, the default power modes Smart or optimal gives perfect results every time, So suspect there is still some bugs to sort out when adjusting PIR settings and setting to custom modes.

How is this not the UK’s No 1?
Reolink have done a good job of this. I was very nervous about the wiring and compatibility issues but the instructions and video assistance support is all really clear and easy to understand. I removed our button from the front door and hard-wired this Reolink camera using the spare cables they provide. I’m pretty sure my power to the doorbell is less than the recommended voltage but it still seems to be enough for it to function correctly and maintain its charge. Does not require any subscription as others have mentioned and if you’ve got other Reolink cameras around the property it’s super easy to add to your existing network via the app, like a Lego set you can keep expanding on! It’s also a very good-looking doorbell with great angle and picture quality. When you go back to review recorded events, each thumbnail has an icon (person, car or pet) to indicate what moving object triggered the recording. Very helpful as means you can filter history to what you are looking for. Lots of flexible options like how sensitive the motion detector is, a variety of ring tone noises and volume control. Talk back feature, night vision and status indicators. I really struggle to fault this unit, very impressed!

great door cam
Easy to set up and install I would recommend this for those who do not want the ongoing subscription charges of some well known door camera's. This also fits well with the other external reolink camera's I have on my house. All accessible from one app.

Reolink doorbell, very pleased!
Nice and easy to set up, good quality video, I ordered a memory card so I could watch play back video. I also ordered a chime device also as won’t operate an old style door bell chime. I wired into existing doorbell wiring as suitable transformer to charge unit instead of keep removing device to charge. I have Reolink cctv already so it’s a great addition! Came with 2 1/2 years warranty if registered.

Reolink doorbell
Brought this doorbell from Amazon. Set up was quite easy to do. Charged up the doorbell itself which took a while. everything seemed ok until the next morning. Went to check the doorbell on the app and found the doorbell forgot the router settings completely. Reset everything and low and behold the same thing happens again. Brought a different doorbell and everything seems to work well. Not impressed with this at all.

It's ok. No idea why there isn't a perfect solution on the market
Good: No cloud subscription, works with existing chimes, easy to install, camera is of adequate quality. Seems to drip charge off the existing wiring. Supports a wide range of voltages from the wiring. Bad: Really needs better API and integration possibilities (for example to work with Home Assistant, or Apple HomeKit - to do that you need the Reolink hub). Notifications seem really hit and miss, sometimes we get them, sometimes we don't, sometimes we get too many - at least the doorbell always works. App is the usual badly developed poor UX from China nonsense. It's a little too easy to remove.

Excellent
This product delivers exactly as advertised, and even exceeds expectations in some areas. For me, the standout feature is the exceptional battery life. It lasts so long that I honestly can’t remember the last time I charged it—easily two months or more between full charges. That’s a huge improvement over my previous device from a well-known brand, which required much more frequent charging. Overall, I’m very impressed.

Amazing
After 3 months, I can confidently say that this product is fantastic. I switched to Reolink after constantly battling with my cameras from a different brand and my only regret is not switching sooner. Since this camera supports dual frequency (2.4 & 5.0), I have no connectivity issues like I had with my other cameras. The camera has been extremely reliable and the video quality is great. I've only had to recharge the doorbell once so far so I'm really impressed with the battery life, and removing it to charge it was really easy. The optional cloud storage feature is extremely reasonably priced too, so I subscribed and can now review the last 30 days of recording from the website in addition to my iPhone. It's also very easy to export a recording to share it, which is another issue I had with my previous cameras.
