Perfect for Cats!
This is what I was looking for when I wanted a wheel for my cats! It came pre-assembled, not that heavy at all and actually looks very nice next to the cat's tree! Both of my Girls immediately jumped on the wheel and knew exactly what it was for. It's quiet and unlike some other wheels the design of this one you do not have to worry about it coming off it's track! All in all a great product, well worth the price for the non-aggravation of not having to build it and hoping it works like it's supposed to without hurting your fur babies when you're not there!

They lied when they say "All dogs love it". OH NO THEY DON'T
They lied when they say "All dogs love it". OH NO THEY DON'T!! My small 12 lb Aussiedoodle HATED this thing from the very get go. Never went near it. When i put her in it she would FREEZE.Would not eat a treat while in it. Would not pay attention to me or anything i would do while in this thing...just stood there frozen. Thought i could just leave it and eventually she would get curious and approach it on her own (like she does EVERYTHING else in my home). NOT! Tried to contact the company for some advice. They will NEVER answer there phone. And NEVER return your call...even if you leave a kind message asking for some help or advice. Not a stand up company at all. There info on returning the item is YOU will pay shipping (and this thing is BIG and HEAVY guys) and there is a 35% restocking fee. So you are going to be OUT close to half of what you paid.HOWEVER, one good thing about this product IS....my dog is EXTREMELY sensitive to being brushed. She does not sit still at ALL when i or my groomer tries to brush her. So NOW i just put her in this wheel and BINGO! She freezes. She will not move at ALL as i brush her. Lol!!

Up to your pet
It says the TreadWheel is pet powered, I'd say it is more like human powered. My three cats don't want to deal with this thing. It's a torture for me, to keep my cat in there, make sure he walks and not just slides down on his bottom, and at the same time pull the wheel to make it rotate. And it's hard when you have a 17lb animal in it. So I am not sure who gets more exercised, me or my cat. The training door is useless for cats. A cat can easily slide his head under and sneak out. They should have made six locking hooks on the door instead of just four, that would hold it tighter and leave no space to stick the head out. I understand this TreadWheel is primarily designed for dogs, but with cat exercise wheels on the market that either priced too high or made of flimsy plastic, GoPet is the only option. It is very sturdy and heavy, but it takes up more space than an average dresser. Also I purchased the TreadWheel from an online retailer, only because they offered 10% discount. It took them two weeks to initiate shipping and communication was horrible. Phones are disconnected, and out of my four emails they only replied to one just to lie that they will ship it tomorrow, tomorrow happened in 6 days. So, I recommend purchasing directly from the manufacturer to avoid the frustration. In my opinion, the item is not returnable, although they say it is. Warranty only covers damage prior to receiving the wheel. In any other case you have to pay return shipping yourself, which will be high due to size and weight, it needs to be shipped by freight. The manufacturer also withholds 35% restocking fee, so in the end you'll get back only about hundred and fifty dollars or less. These things you need to consider before buying. Other than that five hundred dollar price tag may be worth the quality of the item if compared to other exercise wheels. The metal base is heavy, the wheel itself is made of thick durable plastic and lined inside with thick rubber pad. So, I will continue to struggle with my cat, who needs exercise most. Hopefully he'll get more willing to use it.(Update) I solved the useless training door problem by moving the treadwheel so it faces the wall. I let my cat get on the wheel and then I push it close to the wall so there is no space for him to get out. He still tries to stick his paw out in holes at the back, but he definitely stays inside. This way he even walks more by himself in search of ways to get out from the treadwheel. I know it doesn't sound good that I force my cat to exercise. But he ignores all my attempts to make him run on the wheel after a toy or a treat. He is smart and from the day he saw the treadwheel, he knew it's a crazy rotating exercise device and wouldn't go near it. I say, if you have a hyperactive, young and jolly pet, you won't have any problem with training on this treadwheel. But if you have a fat, lazy baby with character and who is smarter than any human you know, then good luck :))(Update 2) After ten months of having this wheel, two of my three cats finally are using it on their own. I am especially happy about my chubby 17lbs cat just started using the wheel by himself and quite often. Fingers crossed! I have the wheel permanently against the wall, with its front to the wall, no training door. I put the wheel so it is almost touching the wall, with just a tiny space for my cats to get in and on it. That's how they feel safe to use the wheel and at the same time be somewhat hidden. I guess they feel secure this way when they walk, and also are not distracted. The third cat uses it rarely for a quick, crazy, jumpy run of content after she did her poops :)) But she is the youngest and active enough without the wheel.

It is great quality and works just as it should
It is great quality and works just as it should. I have bengals, and was told the wheel should be no smaller than 48, but the only wheel I could find that size was a bad design, the 40 inch wheel is working just fine, and both my male and female Bengal love it. Could be a little cheaper, so more pet lovers can afford it.
