Case-it 2 Inches Zipper Binder with 5 - Color Tabbed Expanding File Exterior X-Hugger Pkt W/TAB File, Green

Excellent for middle school boy! Tough, holds a LOT of stuff and the zipper is extra heavy duty. This is our second purchase of this binder and will not be the last. These are very well made and the material resists tears & stains. This gets thrown around (middle school boy-'nuff said!) and it just keeps taking the abuse. The book holder on the front is very large and it expands to hold even the thickest textbook. He crams the inside part FULL with notebooks, papers, computer things and more textbooks and it still zips and he uses the handle to carry it around. It does come with a nylon strap that he doesn't use, it makes it look too much like a purse so there you go! The strap is adjustable and has a comfort thing for your shoulder but the hooks that attach to the binder are plastic. Heavy duty plastic but still, not sure how much weight they would hold.The main reason we bought this binder is he can't take backpacks between classes at the middle school. The kids still have to have all their books etc. but they only have a few minutes to leave class-get to their locker for different stuff-bathroom break-then get all the way across the building to the next class on time; so this binder is a great alternative. Even though it holds as much as a backpack, it's technically a notebook/binder so the school allows it to be carried around. It's just like his own little office with all his books & supplies. No tardy slips and everything is right where he needs it for every class. VERY pleased with this purchase!! ~~~~~~~EDITED December 5, 2014~~~~~~~STILL loving this binder!! My 13 yr old boy literally destroys EVERYTHING from backpacks to shoes but his Case-it is still going strong! The handle & zipper are well made and built tough to take whatever he dishes out.The Case-it has been thrown off the bus, under the car, down the stairs and other than a few grease spots, it's still great. I did spot clean it a few times the first month of school but he doesn't care so I gave up on that :-)The pocket on the front for books does get stretched out a bit from all the cramming & jamming of stuff in there, probably has another inch/inch & and a half of space since Sept., but with all the books & notebooks middle schoolers have to drag around that is actually a good thing.I'm still a fan of this binder and recommend it to anyone with rough/tough kids! A great value for the price.**edit 8/20/19**Well, we made it to high school with the Case-it binder!! Still love the product, super sturdy, hold TONS of stuff. Great price. Highly recommend these binders-I don't know what else to say; when I find something that works as needed every time I just keep buying it! if your kid is tough on binders these PERFORM. Zippers are heavy duty, straps are wide enough they don't twist and dig in to shoulders. Nice bright neutral colors to match most school colors. Super pleased over the years and will be purchasing for 2 more high school years then on to college with Case-It lol

We bought this for our Middle Schooler in a different color, and he used it daily for 2 years. It has held up very well. The rings still open and close and there are no tears or rips. In Middle school he would carry books and an IPAD in the book holder. He just started high school and now carries a laptop in the book holder. My daughter has just started Middle School and we bought another one for her. So far she is very happy with it. The school is under construction so they don't have lockers at the moment. I bought this for my middle-schooler when his last case-it (after several years of rough use!) had a broken zipper. This one is a great replacement, so sturdy, a great vibrant color, and room enough to hold everything he needs!

I bought 2 of these, one for each middle schooler.My one son had a hard time organizing his papers last year with a binder that had the built in acordian files. But that binder is still good and could be used another year or more.This one doesn't seem as sturdy but I actually think it can fit in a backpack if he wants and I can help him customize the inside better. I like it because its not as bulky and has the extra book holder on the outside.Where the zipper is attached seems to be cheap and thin material making me think its going to rip at some point. Will see how it holds.

My son had ADHD this helps with the scattering of homework papers. He loves it because he can carry not one but two books also in this. It’s sturdy and nice.

Doesn't last long zipper broke three months into school

I bought this for my son to use in Middle School. It is great quality. He has been using it for a month now and he can fit all his folders ,paper,and supply case and even his Student planner and a book inside it . Then there is the X- Hugger expanding pouch on the outside to carry other thing such as his composition notebooks. He also likes that it has a detachable shoulder strap.

My daughter’s school doesn’t allow backpacks, so we had to come up with a plan due to the large amount of homework and books that come home and go back to school and she’s a school patrol and needed to be hands free while on duty. This product has met her needs and is holding up just fine (3 months later). We LOVE the pouch on the outside which has been great for all of her library books.

Perfect for the child that has to lug homework home, doesn't mess all the papers in the binder, a little extra to carry that text book.

My daughter and I are extremely pleased with this purchase. The quality seems reasonably good - I will have a better idea halfway through the school year. Each high school year her books get heavier and she runs out of backpack space. This year she opted to utilise individual notebooks for each subject, instead of a couple of binders. She uses the inside of the binder for any handouts and to hold her pencil case, calculator, etc. She puts her notebooks for each subject in the book holder on the front of the binder and carries it to school by the handle (there is a strap that can be put on to carry it over a shoulder). She loves that she doesn't have to drag her backpack around with multiple binders. Her backpack is much lighter and she is much happier.EDIT: Changed from 5 stars to 3 due to... Three quarters of the way through the school year I needed to purchase a second one, as the carrier at the front broke. My daughter was the one who really wanted another one, as she loved the option to carry her books in the front of the binder.
