Great to watch

We were rather sceptical about purchasing this after reading other reviews. As avid Nick Park fans, we were initially rather disappointed with the film. Having said that, once we got into it and stopped looking for what it lacked; we actually enjoyed it. Okay, so it does not have the same complexity to the storyline, but we did spot some gems in the narration and the pictures, so typical of Nick Park humour. Will watch again I am sure.

Really funny start depicting the beginning of football. Go forward a few eons and follow Doug the caveman and his dejected tribe as they try to revive their tribe's football heritage to beat the arrogant "French" world champions. A story full of highs, lows and a happy ending that is easy to watch with the kids.

Very funny. Full of gags . Great animation. Good story. Well worth watching.

We saw that this movie was being released and being the big kid that I am, I made sure that I got to see it at some point. I was excited by the fact of who it was made by and taking into account what they had produced before.The trailer when I watched it lead me to expect exciting things. But...... When I sat down to watch it, it was not what I had imagined at all. The story line was easy enough to follow and what the characters were doing. But it lacked in all areas, most of all comedy and was I thought it was not up to the standard that is normally produced by the people who made it.It had points where you would give the odd chuckle, but it was not exactly roll around on the floor laughing type of movie. Adults might watch it once, but wouldn't recommend it for over 18's or fans of the creators. Definitely a kids movie primarily. I wouldn't say I was bored watching it, but felt let down by the content.

Grandsons (5 and 7 yr old) adore anything by Nick Park. This one is brilliant!
