Great quiet fan - useful for treadmill users in hot climate.
Nice big floor fan with metal blades! I've owned several Optimus fans previously and have always found them to be the quietest fan that I've found. Fans with plastic blades make a lot more noise than these fans with metal blades. For the price you can't beat it. No it's not as fancy as some much more expensive fans, but I use it in front of my treadmill and Florida and it does the job quite well...at least it's not drowning out the TV - or competing with the noise of the treadmill itself...so it's a great fan for me. Really moves the air much better than the next smaller sized fan. I'd recommend this fan to anyone looking to move a lot of air in a fairly quiet fashion for a reasonable cost.

Strong Quality Fan
This is a strong fan. I got the model with the rectangular shaped based as opposed to the one in the picture and like it better. It is easier to place on a work bench or small table. Good quality and not a mark on the shipping box so it arrived in excellent condition. I use it to ventilate inside while working with the various chemicals needed to do those homeowner projects and it is just right. On full blast, it moves more than enough air to keep my staining and painting projects from fuming up the house. Even the lowest setting is powerful. It is just what I needed.

Purchased 2011 Still working great after 11 years
Originally bought it as part of a 7th grade science wind generating power project.Never have any problems with it and it still works great.I am wondering if their quality control slipped in 2016 due to the high number of negative reviews

NOT the solution to disposable plastic fans!
I absolutely LOVED this fan, but when Portland's heat wave started, this fan's motor gave up. I bought this fan so that I wouldn't have to buy any more rickety, disposable plastic fans. I wanted a metal fan that could be recycled wayyyyy later in its life and would be of high enough quality to last a long while. So sad that this great looking and functional fan stabbed me in the back. Even though I've had it since November 2016 (9 months), I really only used it for two months before it ceased working. What a bummer.Update August 2017: I finally got a chap from Optimus customer service on the line (keep trying past the busy signals) and he advised me to remove the motor, send it in to the address on the instructions, and include a copy of the proof of purchase from within a year. He may as well have asked me to pony express the thing across the gold rush-era yukon wilderness with my hat in my hand. Here's how crappy the product is:It was immediately apparent that this fan could never be reassembled. 3 of the screw-tightened "tension-type"brackets located around the radius of the fan housing to hold its two halves together stripped in the process of removal, despite using the correct sized tools and a patient, gentle touch. Clearly, this is not the "industrial grade" fan I was sold. Finally, the set-screw that holds the collar of the blades onto the driveshaft was impossible to unseize while maintaining its functionality. As the other reviews will tell you, this fan depends upon its blades being kept in perfect shape to avoid imbalance and vibration. Because they're paper-thin metal, this is probably impossible, and certainly not practical for the average consumer. So, in summary, this Optimus "Industrial Grade" fan is EVEN MORE DISPOSABLE than the cheap plastic ones selling at the grocery store for $10. Calling this product a scam is being polite. Their customer service is not at all interested in assisting, and it was only through Amazon that I found resolution. Never again, Optimus.

Great for working out in the garage
This fan is great for working out in a hot garage; it really gets the air flow going. I like the tilt head so I can get flow exactly where I need it. It is a bit loud, but with headphones it is not so bad. The only downside is the fan is on smooth garage concrete, and with the pressure of the fan it does move. I had to put 2 10-lb weights behind it so it would stay in place. I had no other issues and do recommend this product.

Powerful and long lasting!
I purchased this fan quite a while ago; and just decided to review. I use it all the time. I mean ALL the time. I can tell you I haven't noticed a difference in that time. It is still as good as the day I got it. So great fan if you like a powerful fan and one that will last a while.

I loved this fan for white noise and circulation but it ...
I loved this fan for white noise and circulation but it does after 6 months. The motor is just done. I emailed the company and haven’t gotten any response. Very disappointed.

It sure blows
Don't buy this for a cool breeze in the house. It say "high velocity" and it's very high at low speed. Perfect to get the air out of my garage when I weld or drying the car/floor faster during winter. Noise is what you would expect when you displace so much air

Just keep going and going......
It's not often I find myself compelled to write a review bUT for these fans I have to. I have had these fans running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the last 10 months and I have not had a single issue with them. No strange motor noises, no smoke smells.....nothing. They have worked flawlessly.

Excellent to cool a room on a hot day - UPDATE
This thing is AMAZING. I bought another oscillating fan but rarely use it. This gives excellent air flow...yes, it's noisy, but it's worth putting up with to have a cool room. I bought one before and made the mistake of dismantling the grills to clean before storing for winter.DON'T DO THAT. A vacuum with a small attachment works best.Jan 07, 2022 - I pulled out the fan to clean it and it wouldn't work at all. I thought it was the outlet, but it was the fan. It completely died and for no apparent reason. I would not recommend this fan again. I'm very disappointed in it, the original was so great, but the second one was not up to par.

Don't buy this junk. Learn from our mistakes
The fan weekend great at first and quit after a few months use. Not even every day use, it probably ran for a combined total of 30 hours and then quit working. Unable to reach anyone at their office in California. It just rings and rings and rings... Don't buy

Love this fan!! Would buy another, but no longer need one! :D
Fan is very powerful, with a more than acceptable noise level in my opinion. Not a bedside fan, but will definitely circulate a room, even on the low setting and is amazing for drying out herbs!
