IBM T60 T61 T61P SATA 2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Caddy

I bought this for my T61 so that I can record to a separate drive that doesn't share the USB bus with my audio interface. The drive can be ejected with the Windows system tray icon, but kept securely in the bay. This powers down the drive immediately and saves battery. I asked earlier in the comments section here about PATA/SATA but I didn't get a clear answer so here it is - this drive caddy works with SATA drives, but the drive bay of the T61 is actually PATA, so don't expect the SATA 2 speeds that you get with the internal drive even if you're using the Middleton BIOS. It came with a bunch of screws which I don't understand the purpose of. There's a plastic tab that flips and holds the drive in place, I imagine this could break at some point if I were to change drives a lot. Anyway it fits perfectly in the T61 and does what it's supposed to do.

Needed to add a strip of plastic to keep the hard drive from slipping out of the socket and giving the Windows OS a fit.

a great way to extend the functionality of your laptop. I use a 1TB laptop drive in the ultrabay in combination with a 120GB SSD in the main HD bay on my laptop and it works great.

OEM ultrabay drive. Fits perfectly and works perfectly. Just slapped a 750 scorpio black WD drive in the bay, and a Samsung SSD in the main drive area. My IBM is smokin fast and has a terabyte capacity. OH>>>And the price is ridiculously low and the seller got it here FAST!!!

Bought this to use in my Lenovo laptops and so far it works great have not had it that long but it plugged in and worked fine.

Worked as designed, and was much easier to install that I originally thought. Easiest way to add additional storage to the ugly laptop.
