The CBV-2465B does it all. It will chip thick 2-inch branches by feeding them into the solid cast aluminum cone. You can clear a 24-inch wide path as it vacuums up leaves and lawn debris. Blower feature separates this from other similar vacuums/chippers/mulchers
If your job needs more than a backpack leaf blower but not quite a lawn tractor with leaf bagging, this vac/blower/chipper is a good solution. The vacuum is robust and works as advertised, but simple conversion back and forth between blower and vacuum mode is where time is saved. The blower is strong enough to quickly move leaves to a density that warrants passes in vacuum mode. The impeller and blades mulch leaves (particular dry leaves) sufficiently to significantly increase functional bag capacity. I figure that compost time will also be decreased, but time will tell. The chipper is an added bonus, though the least used of the three functions by a good margin.I strongly considered other chipper vacs (troy built, craftsman, cub cadet) which have a tube vacuum attachment but lack the blower function. The tube is certainly missed from the Patriot and would be nice for more detailed vacuum work. As I mentioned above, though, the blower greatly increases my efficiency for the greater lawn, and I would regret not having that function.The Billy Goat products are top of the line, but their lawn vacs similarly lack a blower function. Also, there are no blades to assist the impellers with mulching. Also, Billy Goats will set you back a few more dollars.Pros:- Blower function - not an option on competitors- Easy to start- Quick transition between vacuum and blower modes- Powerful vacuum- Bag can be detached/reattached quickly (once you get the hang of it)- Saves significant time clearing lawns compared to standard backpack and handheld blowers- Speedy customer service (the company president answers emails!)Cons-- Bag mount must be aligned perfectly flush to depress the safety mechanism and allow it to start. This can lead to some head scratching during the first few uses until you learn to seat the bag appropriately.- The bag needs straps or handles for carrying. It has a large capacity and gets heavy when packing it full.- Smaller wheels compared to Billy Goat (which cost more, don't mulch as well, lack a blower)

Excellent Product
Purchased this leaf vacuum in 2018 for purpose of removing large amounts of leaves fallen from about 20 large oak trees in my yard. It's a well engineered, well designed, well manufactured piece of equipment. The Briggs & Stratton engine starts easily and is easy to maintain (regular oil changes, clean air filter). The product will reduce leaf volume about 50 to 60%, depending on how much moisture is in the leaves being vacuumed. The leaf collection bag has held up well, including the long zipper that encloses the collection bag. My only complaint pertains to the plastic snout on the front of the machine. My experience has been that the plastic snout cracks after a few weeks of machine use. Once the crack or cracks commence, they expand and slowly break the snout and it falls off. You can replace the snout, which is what I did in 2018, but learned to install soup can tops bolted in place over snout cracks as they formed. My repaired snouts have held up well. Overall, an excellent piece of yard equipment. I would buy it again.

Does What It Claims To Do
The Good Points: This is the only leaf vac that has ever been able to handle our heavy oak leaves. It vacuumes them up with ease in one pass, even pulling them up from long grass. The engine starts easily, even when cold. Small branches mixed with the leaves don't phase it.Things that could be better. Its heavy and and a bit hard to push, but still a lot better than hours of raking. The bag is somewhat akward to empty and heavy when full. The chipper chute has to be removed to clean or replace the air filter.Quality Control Problems. Ours arrived with both a broken kill switch and a broken on/off switch, rendering the engine inoperable. However, a call to the service center was answered by a very helpful service rep. He walked us through the trouble shooting process. We were able to get the engine started by disconnecting the bad switches. Replacement switches are said to have been shipped.All things considered, its a good piece of equipment. We've been using it almost daily on our heavily wooded lot with good results and no problems. I would purchase it again.

Very nice product and used for 2 seasons
Very nice product and used for 2 seasons. We have many trees and lots of leaves in the fall. Works great picking up the leaves and reducing the volume by at least 50% . Cut our leaf cleanup time by more than 70%. Only problem we had was Through research on the internet, discovered there was a problem with the spark plugs on the B &S engine. Replaced it with a Champion RJ19LM and have not had a problem since. Would have paid extra for the self propelled option.

Best yard vacuum around!!!
I bought this machine three years ago and it is one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon. This yard vacuum is the perfect solution for my Fall yard needs. It does an outstanding job vacuuming up leaves and shredding small branches. It came totally assembled and was ready to go. I have had zero mechanical issues with this product since I purchased it. This product has saved me many hours of work and I actually enjoy working on my Fall leaf chores with this machine. I enthusiastically endorse this product

This Patriot leaf vacuum is very light and easy to push or pull. The blower is very powerful moving leaves at lest 10 feet per pass making my wooded 1/3 acre a fast clean up . I have used this vacuum for two fall seasons and I'm satisfied. The leaf bag could be made to be easier to empty.
